/agree /\

I think you put the links about specials and Firehawks speed/dps write up in but also leave them as seperate stickies for quick reference.

I noticed a "I have enough skill points for 2/3 trees, what do you recommend" section in the FAQ. Would it be worthwhile to add a "I have enough skill points for one skill tree, what do you recommend" to the FAQ? (Coincidentally, this happens to be the situation I am in... )

If nothing else, I would like to see what the general consensus is. When I asked around in game, I asked 20 carbineers of varying skill levels, and I got exactly 5-5-5-5 split...

I noticed that the weapons info section (the one about damage types, etc.) is a bit short. I also noticed there is a place holder that says "weapons info coming soon." Is someone allready on top of this, or are you hoping someone will offer to produce a write up on this topic? If the latter, I'll offer to write it. I just read a post asking a question about "what carbine should I use to level up", and I think this topic being in the FAQ would have answered it in good detail.

I should have plenty of time on my hands as my current quarter at school is coming to a close and I'm only a week away from summer break. If you'd like me to do it Nova, or anything elseconcerning the FAQ for that matter, you know where to find me.

I'm not sure that is true. Thus far, I mastered the speed line (assault tactics?). I just wanted to see if anybody had any perspective as to "no, this tree is clearly better".

I might not be nearly as strong as a master carbineer (or MC-BH combo), but I think I am doing fairly well and I have been happy with the results.

Speed is good but each tree has its own unique skill set and specials, so the "correct" one for a person depends on their template and play-style......thus there is no ONE answer

I would agree with TAFirehawk on this one. For instance I would assume that if you only have the skillpoints available for one tree you have anothercombat professionto deal damage at speed. Having said that i would recommend you take up the special abilities line for the FAA2 and ChargeShot2. I would say this will give you the abilty to apply states and KD's to multiple targets and the speed issue can be overcome by staying with a DH17 or a speed sliced E11. Once the states are applied switch back to your primary combat profession and get busy However if the person in question has all thier skill points delegated to crafting or healing this is probaly not the way to go.

Your assumption was half-correct, Doq_Utek. If you were curious, my primary profession is combat medic. So I can't just switch to "anothercombat professionto deal damage at speed". I find with the mission system as it stands now though, it is faster to just kill things with my carbine than poisoning them though.

And as for getting special attacks, I was sorely tempted to. Knockdown being another way to keep enemies at bay while the poisons are ticking. However, the skill modifier (accuracy while moving, but that's another discussion...) didn't sound too appealing, and I wasn't thrilled about getting all that combat exp...

As for why I choose assault tactics, I figured that I can always use some food or even a deadeye to increase my accuracy, but there weren't any foods or items to increase attack speed (although that would be a great spiceto add to the gamein my opinion).

We could do an individual write up on each tree with it's specific benefits and strengths. And include some popular CarbineDabbling advice. Something like this:

X000 - Carbine Assualt Tactics: Includes our speed mods, which is almost a neccasity to combat in SWG, since the faster you are firing the more damage you are dishing out. Also contains the Scattershot series which some carbineers find useful for dealing Mind Damage in PvP, as well as the Wildshot series which is useful for applying the stun state.

0X00 - Carbine Marksmanship: Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy simply put you can't hurt what you can't hit. This tree includes our additions to carbine accuracy. This tree also carries /crippleshot which is our highest damage skill (not our highest damage per second mind you) as well as /legshot3 which should be fixed shortly.

00X0 - Carbine Counterinsurgency: This is our defense tree, it comes with some slight state defences as well as counterattack. At the moment counterattack is not functioning properly and worksvery similar to dodge. Also contained within this tree are the burstshot skills. /burstshot2 being a high damage area of effect skill useful for laying down damage to multiple targets through a cone effect.

000X - Carbine Special Abilities: The title says it all, most of our neat tricks are contained within this tree. And they include our ranged KDs, one of which is a function AoE Cone Skill. As well the Full Auto Area skills, which provides a chance to Stun/Dizzy/Blind your target, and is also an AoE Cone Skill. This tree also contains our Carbine Accuracy While Moving skill, which many carbineers value in PvP since it is almost required to be continually moving.

It is late, and i imagine this could be cleaned up a little, but i think it would be useful for Bounty Hunters to go through since most of our dabbling posts are coming from them.

don't wantthis little guy getting lost.

It has been brought to my attention that there is a concern about mitigation not functioning properly when KD'd i am gonna test this and then if mitigation does change based on your posture we should update the FAQ

I noticed the trainers got all fubared. I edited a few posts to imbed the links but when I did that the formatting went to hell. If I edit to fix the formatting, for forums eat the HTML code and the links are deleted...
