Thread: why we DON'T suck
all I have to said is, after the patch they nerf the kunga so i decide to drop by lok and do some nym mission and try to get some of the new HVFM.
currently heading up to master carbineer, with bh carbine 3 and 4/3/0/3 at moment,, woo woo. nym guards just dies left and right,, eat 2 ryshcake and 1 Boh, hit fire knockdown 3 times, and then 5 scatter 2, 1 nym guards down
, npc is dumb too they even go kneel or prone when dizzied
spawn time is so fast only 10 minute on static spawns, getting so much experience, my friend try with pistoleer/bh, there is no way he is outdamaging me with the scatter 2(average 2-3k on the very high cl nym guards)
HAM issues are now mute since you can eat food again without crashing your stats. If you're solely interested in PvP without being a BH I suggest getting Carbineer / Doctor. With strength and stamina over 3000 you won't have any ham costs.
Carbines I believe are not intended for personal solo use. They are best used for a squad of people. The AOE attacks (that work) and stun are a good force multiplier. 1 carbineer vs. 1 pistoleer will be a tough call, but 2 carbineers vs. 2 pistoleers, and you start seeing the effectiveness of carbines in the combat system.
Since mastery of carbineer allows for enough skill points to be allotted to another profession that can aide the carbine side of things, solely looking at carbine vs. 'x' or carbine vs. BH carbine isn't really a good way to look at things.
For example if a TKA also has carbine, the unarmed toughness goes away when they pick up the carbine, but their resistance to KD and dizzy stays the same. And for close encounters they can start punching. If they simply need to retreat they can drop the carbine, and the unarmed toughness kicks in. They can also powerboost before battle, use force-of-will, etc.
A doctor / carbineer can remove stun and dizzy states from themselves, and if they're master doc they can remove the states extremely quickly. The can also buff themselves and use the carbine's specials, and heal themselves and their teammates with stim-D's.
So basically when you say BH carbine is automatically better than Carbineer, you're ignoring the other profs that a carbineer can pick up to augment the carbine.
Anyway, that's my view of it after doing multiple professions before trying Bounty Hunter. And if you really think Bounty Hunter is unjustly balanced, as I did before trying the prof, I suggest you go Bounty Hunter without the dabbling.
It's actually a pretty fun class.
