Well as I said, it is a toss up between Accuracy and Speed, but there is no doubt BurstShot1 is necessary. And I find that ScatterShot1 is very important as well if choosing to get Accuracy first. AND if you are going for Accuracy, don't stop at CrippleShot as the 4th Tier is where the big increase is at.

I recommend Speed first because it is much easier to "manually" increase your accuracy by being at Ideal Range and being Prone than it is to somehow increase your speed. Although stopping at 301X and then getting 341X is a great choice IMO.

Going up the trees evenly is a very good plan as well, getting Accuracy and Speed at the same time can not be argued against

There's no sense getting more speed or more defenses and specials if you can't hit anything consistently.

Maybe itis because I filled my Marksman Ranged Support line (for Squad Leader) but by the time I hit Novice Carbineer, I was hitting much more than I missed. Not sure if +30 General Ranged Aiming would account for the discrepancy we seem to have, but it certainly isn't my SL abilities! Though I don't have anything but anecdotal data, I'd saythat Iwas hitting roughly 85% of the time without any of the Carbineer Marksmanship boxes and Burst Shot seems to be my least accurate shot with roughly a 2/3 hit-rate. Consequently, I'm a heavy user of Full Auto (which seems to hit Health more often than not for me), Cripple and Scatter.

Uh...well....umm.... ScatterShot is NOT an AoE attack, so what you say is correct and working correctly. Check out the Sticky'd posts on Specials for how it works and that is one of the few working specials.

Scattershot isnt working completely, for some reason when you use it the combat spam reports that you did 1 damage to your target, but the target takes correct damage and the floaty's display the proper numbers. It is a very smallproblem and hardly even worthcomplaining about just need to make sure you are aware, because if you dont watch thefloaty's you mightthink it iscompletely broken. The damage mult on Scattershot is somewhere around 7x (crippleshot being 7.5x) so IMO is one of our best specials, It is good for putting constant damage on a target, and works well in groups. Also i find about 50% of the time i land a decent amount of mind damage in PvP using so i prefer it to Crippleshot in PvP.

I recommend the following path to Master:

(a faq is in progress...)

0010 for burstshot1. burstshot1 is the best damage/HAM special we have.

Then:

3010 so that you fire faster. BUT you will be missing alot.

Then:

3310 so that you have more accuracy.

Then:

4410 if you find yourself missing alot take marksman first, otherwise grab assault.

Then:

4440

Level the last box whenever you get the experience to do so.

All multi-pool hits don't display in Combat Tab correctly, since day 1. And we surely don't need that fixed, yet

While there are many ways to level Carbineer, I think you want 3410 after 3010 because of the huge Accuracy bonus in the 4th tier.

And with BurstShot2 changing, that may move up on the priority list. Although Speed and Accuracy will probably be more important still.
