Thread: CARBINEER STILL BLOWS

It isn't the player. When we miss half the time and the specials take up all your ham there is a problem. I've tried many different pvp tactics with all our specials and the same keeps ringing true. I've got a clue. You've got the blinders on. The dizzy takes 2 -3 shots just to stick (if you're lucky). Fact is our damage mitigation and counterattack are also weak compared to the other defensive mods given to rifleman and pistoleer. You can have this profession. Getting constant buffs simply to survive is rediculous.
Yes! Someone who finally understands. Even heavy and special heavy weapons don't have anywhere near the ham requirements that carbines have. The developers have acknowleged this as a problem. Just have to wait another eight months till that gets fixed.

i got Mcarbs on monday night before the patch, since tuesday ive been PvPing and basically nothing but
after a couple hours of playing with friends in duels i learned what shots worked more effectively agains certin profs ie TK riffleman etc
also with a good Carbine i was hitting players with full 80/74 comp on for an easy 600+ each time not to mention 80% of the people i fight i kd/dizzy them
now imo the fact as a ex master fencer/master brawler with some extra stacked defenses, i would get raped from riffleman who got the run on me
now against the same people i rape them like theres nothing to it
sure i take hits before i kd/dizzy them but understand this
most riffleman hit around 300-650dmg and i usually do 400-900dmg and btw ill post screen shots to prove it
not to mention i shot much faster than a riffleman
now my only beef is the HAM costs but oh well ill deal with it
and then here comes the sweet part
me and 3 guild members go into AH to kill some rebels
6 come running up the hill at us
with a great radius EE3 i stunded 5 dizzyed 4 and KD 3 now imo that just changed the battle for us from a possiable lose to a certin win
Just curios on how you managed to shoot faster than a rifleman? If you did that then they weren't masters and shouldn't of been fighting at all.

For the record, I do not want this class to be uber. I want it to be balanced with strengths and weaknesses. It's not there yet but it is heading that way.
/agree
and i think we're very close to that (i know ham is gonna be looked at in the upcoming rebalance, but it's like putting kids to bed on christmas eve :smileytongue
Hopefully the rest of the classes will follow shortly (if they're not already there)
i like having to think on my feet, decide which shot to use next, scrounging for space on my tool bar, and just all around having to outwit my opponents. I don't want a uber kill-em-all button. I can go play a FPS for that.
I've dueled many / many people.. and the only people that I have been able to beat (just by carbine skill) are noobs.
I fight the occasional tournament PvP player etc..
People that PvP have at least 80% composite, are buffed with 2.2 k (minimum) Doctor buffs, combination of Dancer/ Musician / Chef foods, ranged damage mitigation, and ultra high defenses.... Just for Defense
and other classes have either higher damage, more accessability to D.o.T. looted weapons, stun damage weapons, or just overall better damage weapons and combinations of specials...
Knockdown works consistently.. and that is about the only good thing for us in PvP.. except for the fact that it lasts 5 seconds and we don't have a reliable Dizzy effect.
We don't do Stun damage (pistoleers, rifleman)
Our Accuracy in PvP is miserable
And getting D.o.T. weapons for us is harder......
We want to be fair and balanced.. not ultra elite to get nerfed.. but on par with everyone else.

i'm a holo grinder, and i couldnt wait to finish my latest profession so that i can take up carbineer and check out the new changes first hand. From an unbiased person who is also a TKM, and has ground through almost every fighting profession in the game, carbineer is still not up to par, and it in fact, blows.
true true and I've been carbines for a couple months now after being a pistoleer and rifleman for a bit...

Since you're a holo grinder did you even have enough time to try it out long enough to get used to the style of play? It's not like playing a rifleman and spamming headshots in order to win battles.
Carbineers are only slightly underpowered in my opinion. As a pure carbineer I feel confident in taking on any other combat proffesions with a good chance of winning. Still have a hard time against those with pure pvp templates though.

I've PVP'd many times since the patch and I can honestly say that the improved Dizzy attack has not even come close to making us a formidable PVPer. The dizzy takes too long to stick, and even at master Carbineer I still miss way too damn much WITH ALL MY SPECIALS. I am getting sick of this. Give us a damn mind attack, or lower the ham costs. I held on to this broken profession hoping that the new patch would help things, but it hasn't. I think I'll go all brawler profs since thats obviously what the devs want us to do.
Somepeople just were not ment to PvP.
You might want to work on your template a little more.
Then again you might want to accept that PvP just isnt for you.
