Carbineer Archive
Thread: I'm sorry fellow Carbineers but this is still a horribly broken class.
swordsman/carbineer, even with the defense hardcap, is still better than a BH carbineer if you play it right. The majority of people who went BH/carbineer did so so they could be good with carbines without having to think. And therefore are REALLY easy to beat by using tactics.
IMO, carbine still isn't up to the level it should be, but i wouldn't call it HORRIBLY broken. Once our speed/HAM costs get fixed (hoping for publish 8) then we should do quite well. I already do much better than i did even with chargeshot1 still spammable.

While playing CH, all I heard was "Oh this profession is so borken." and "Can't believe how badly broken this profession is."
Then played Commando, (that is a messed up profession BTW). Same story, man this profesison is broken, etc. etc. etc.
Now don't get me wrong. I've only been playing Carbineer for about 20 minutes, but is it REALLY that broken? Or is it like every other profession that seems to be broken, and because you can't just completely RULE at PVP it is considered broken?
No matter what profesison people choose, if they don't completely domoniate the other person in a PVP situation, the class is automatically deemed "broken" by people.
It's not broken, just abit underpowered.
In PvP, since Publish 7, Master Carbineer (alone) has been a mixed bag. Against other ranged professions, I can hold my own with some non-mechanics based skills and a little common sense. Against Melee professions, its been a complete mess. TKMs do more damage to me thanI do to them hands down. Their KD/Dizzy attacks are ultra reliable and nigh impossible to resist. Quite simply, if someone has a Teras Kasi Master tag showing or is holding VKs, I really don't even bother resisting if we're both overt, its just not worth wasting the time.
PvE has been complete pwnage. (I hate leetspeak, but I'll be damned if this doesn't apply). Get buffed, tap a couple hits of Vaserian Brandy, and I've been able to rampage at will through stormtrooper infested cities without a problem. Because of spawn rate variations, I average 1500 faction points per hourin Kor Vella and over 2000 faction points per hourin Mos Espa. Buffed and with a bottle of brandy, there is nothing in this game under 20k HAM I won't solo, without the benefit of pets. (over 20k HAM and you're talking a mob that is most likely outdamaging my ability to regenerate damage.)
