Actually, in about a month and two weeks, I mastered Carbineer, at 2-3 hours per day. I did this mostly in hunting groups, un-armored and un-buffed (excluding this one weak 900 Health buff from a low level doc i got one time). I could get at most 100k per 2-3 hour gameplay time, and usually get close on to half of that onshort days. I enjoyed the group fighting, it helps you understand people better 
And I considered my constant healing due to HAM costs sort of like reloading ammunition (sometimes using a funny yell macro telling everyone I need a reload LOL)
I'm just waiting now for it to get better, leveling Fencer as I wait for the day when Carbineer is fixed (a nice glimmer of hope in patch 7 is slowly convincing me it will be fixed)

I never really got buffed until the 4th tier boxes as I enjoy group hunting as well. And at the same time I started to hunt exclusively on Dath - Rancors to gain CH XP as well.
