Thread: Dear Lord I feel For You Carbineers...

Although I love Master Carbs and would never change I think that most of the people that have posted here are slightly missing the point. Take a look, Master Carbs/BH Carbs 4, Master Carbs/Master Fencer, surely you guys realise that that gives you a rather large (massive in the case of EisMan) advantage over any toon with Master Carbs and no other combat plusses.

I'll give you an example, the other day I was asked to db my guildie as he was about to start some afk macroing and he was overt. I started but imagine my humiliation when, even buffed, he nearly nailed me while wearing no armour/psg and with no buffs.

Face it guys, without the extras that BH Carbs gives you or without another combat prof backing you up it is a lot harder to stamp your authority on the PvP battle field. My Guildie had a massive amount of dizzy and KD protection so you can pretty much discount trying that little trick on him and everything else I tried just did a poor amount of damage.

Before anyone questions my carb it is a normal Elite that I was using, with damage mitigation it should be dealing out between 100 and 150 damage per.

And as a last comment (which is what this post is, not a criticism) the guy who owns "Betsy" the laser carb, I'm sure that's a sweet weapon in PvE but the damage mitigation would cripple it in PvP, I'm not sure how much you paid for it but I'd have gone for an Elite any day, the AP is worth the slight loss in damage anyday.

Please feel free to comment on this but I've been fair, be fair back

I totally agree byallbacca,I wouldnt recommend say, a master carb/master armorsmith, and expect todo good in pvpwith it. I don't think carbs is in any way a stand alone prof like say swordsman(pve can do great, and still have a crafting prof),or rifleman(pvp,no need for explanation with this one) It needs to be boosted by another means,I chose fencer and pistoleer.....the defenses i get with these are great. But I usefencer and carbsseperately, if you plan on doin combat, I highly recommend a mastery in ranged and melee.

see sig... (soon-to-be MD/MCarb)

This is a great combo, and a perfect support player for PvP... designated state-stacker/KD specialist, then fall back and play healer/rezzer and fire-support guy

sure, I'll never "pwn" groups this way, but I play this build because I enjoy combat healing and team play... and getting those PvP kills to make up for all the TEF ganking when I was in Med School sure feels good!!

Thats a very good combo coryn.....but it is very different than say doin mcarbs/marmorsmith. You can't really get any more supportive and lead to group success than what you've got planned.

I stand corrected

lol dunno why i said armorsmith....they do tend to have access to the best of the best. I hope the base of my point got across at least.

I've been a carbineer and a pikeman. Pikeman is just vastly better than carbineer.

Belly-button lint is better than carbineer.

Don't get me wrong, I still am one... I like the concept. It's just painful compared to the other classes.

At first you just cant hit anything. Then when you can later, nothing notices when you DO hit it.

This class will probably be the most heavily upgraded after the combat "rebalance" where the screw up the balance issues all over again. It's just depressing to see a guy with an axe outdamage everything in the known universe.

Translation: There are some people smart enough to play as a carbineer, but most are too dumb and can't think, so they suck at it.

For once I was trying to be NICE, but you are 100% right

LOL.....how many other profs have you tried???

Pistoleer is far worse than Carbineer, except for the defenses which I have picked up now I am Master Carbineer + Master CH + 0040 Pistoleer with over 12 Krayt Carbines and 85% Comp Armor with max SEA's. Add on top of that doc/dancer/musician buffs with uber food/drink and I can last long enough to kill all but the uber templates and get respect from EVERY SINGLE PERSON in PvP.....

So be careful when you make such generalizations......

Okay... if you dont have access to outrageous twink gear, its very painful compared to the other combat professions I've done.

That specific enough?

Actually I ran into a Master Carb/Master armorsmith the other day doing PvP. Took me and a TKA a while to take him out, caus he had some real nice protection sliced armor, 90% base probably.
