You can be as disagreeable as you want Cyene, it doesn't change the fact that I can take down a Tuskan faster with 1700 pt shots from laser carbine legshot2 every 3.6 seconds than I can with 700 pt fanshots from my DX2 every 1 second. I spent some time at the tuskan fort last night and was watching damage from each. My top hit with carbine was 2100, top hit with fanshot (SEVEN levels higher in elite combat tree) was 1100. Yes, HAM usage is high, and more distributed over each pool, but are you so totally blinded by the fact that there's a nasty pistoleer on your board that you can't see this? Yes, my one legshot2 costs me 100+ action every 3.6 seconds. My fanshot costs me 86 action every second or so. The only difference I've noticed is that it's a bigger health/mind hit as well for carbine. And since you're obviously aware of sunburn buffs (I crank thru about 10/night myself), I'm not sure how much credence I place in complaining about HAM costs.

You are obviously enlightened and know everything, but some people will see some "idiot" (your word) and not know that they're an idiot. So all of a sudden more people think that everyone running around with a scatter pistol doing 2k health hits is a "pistoleer".

"Just don't think any of us are fooled by your supposed "intentions", because they are woefully transparent."

My only intention on starting this thread was to clear up, for those that -didn't- know, that everybody you see using StoppingShot for 2100 pts is not a pistoleer. Believe what you will, your opinion costs me nothing. Hell, I mastered marksman 3 weeks ago on the path to BH, and never knew about warning shot until last week. Same goes for suppression fire. I had already dropped those two boxes from marksman for the points. There are alot of "tricks" and small pieces of knowledge that some of us "less fortunate" souls only find out by listening to others.

I am not lumping everyone on these boards into nice logical groups. Some of the threads are really interesting. You, apparently, have decided that I'm one of your "idiots". Ok, again, your opinion costs me nothing.

Lastly, the only reason I picked up a carbine was because everyone I've talked to said it was the champ for crowd control. That is my primary interest as a ranger trying to gather organics from baf'ing mobs.

Please feel free to click on my name and add to your ignore list.

"Please this is the most blatant finger pointing post I have ever seen."

Exactly.

doubletap and stopping shot are BOTH pistoleer skills. i group with a master smuggler/pistoleer (who has both of those, btw) and we have a rather simple strategy. he keeps one knocked down while i shoot it. that way, we get an even split of exp. (well, i throw in a few crippling shots, bleeds, and the occasional scattershot2 for thehell of it.)

when he starts blasting through double-tap/stopping shot combos, it gets near to impossible for me to compete without spamming crippling shot/full-auto single 2. end result is me having far less ham than he does, and often less exp as well.

the scatter pistol might be nice, and might allow for a lot of the highest-damage from these two specials, however...i have seen damage just as high from an fwg5. i am absolutely not trying to bash anyone...i think that a pistoleer/carbineer makes a GREAT team (esp. witha doc thrown in to the mix). carbineers have some issues in the class that should be looked at, but overall i think we're doing OK (pre-nerf of course...when it starts, i'll have to come up with another way to not suck)
