there has been an update regarding CH. they have added 5 levels to novice, bringing creature pets level to 15.

since you need master scout already to be BH, you just need to spend 6 skill points to keep your rock beetle.

I thought they only added 2 levels...so level 12...my beetle is 13

I really like grand wrix. If they dont nerf their stats, I think I might go enough CH to handle one of those.

Of course that will either cost me medic skills or BH speed...

Thats going to be a tough one...

it's all speculation anyhow.

i suspect that the rock beetle's armor will be removed and you'll see it's tanking ability disappear. there were hints of a probot buff though. you might want to look in to that. we might see the pre-nerf probots return. (3100 HAM, AR2, 40% resists, 120 damage)

if fullautosingle's dizzy isn't fixed, people should start looking for some low level pet that has a dizzy special. CH will have the ability to call these at will. i hope this new CH ability doesn't cut into carbineers' role as state-changers, though.

Hey, did anyone notice SOJ is the Carabineer Correspondent. GOD DAMNIT! SOE cant even get the correspondent name right?

/sigh

And yes I know Carabineer is one correct spelling, BUT WE USE CARBINEER! Everything that has to do with Carabinier/Carabineer/Carbineer/Carbinier, should just be spelled Carbineer, THANKS!

I find this thread so funny....a CH/carbineer and a BH/carbineer who feel dirty...lol...

I started thinking about it wondering where I went wrong and it all comes back to the KD/posture nerf. Before that, I would hunt using action shots for creature control. They took that away and I replaced that with a rock beetle. I got far more powerful because action shots miss and sometimes mobs resist the state effect. I still say the state changes were never as powerful as many claimed because they were not 100% reliable, used up an attack to do so and cost HAM. The game was certainly far more fun with those state changes in place. A timer of some kinda maybe was needed in PvP...or maybe just the defenses needed adjustment like they are finally getting (It is going to be near impossible to KD a master pistoleer with +100 dodge and +50 KD resist).

So they nerfed the state changes and everyone got pets. Once you have a pet, you only need 2 abilities to kill efficiently - do damage and heal damage to your pet. This made the game very straight forward such that to because the best hunter you simple need to do big damage and do it fast and some medic skills.

I am still humored by the people that say to use tactics instead of pets. What are they fighting? You can use careful tactics on a single mob but everything breaks down once you talk about social creatures and thats just about everything except the very low level mobs. I still long for the days when carbineers had state effects because it felt like using tactics even if it was just cycling through a predetermined set of specials.

Doh...just got myself bummed out again
