I'm using a nicely sliced DXR-6. No Krayt or anything (made the mistake of using my only tissues on a laser, before the mitigation). Damage is 240ish to 380ish, IIRC. I'm waiting to check out the new E-11 schematics that are coming with the next patch. Here's hoping for accuracy and counterattack bonuses ala the Featherweight FWG-5.

I use mine all the time. Mostly for taking out lairs. A 180ish max damage elite will average 1000-1300 dmg a crippleshot.

I only use 2 carbines at the moment.
Elite sliced for damage with 33speed/16min
Best consistant damage I have found.
DXR6 sliced for damage with 33speed/16 min
For acid attack when neccessary.
Both start with a decent minimum damage, and with a damage slice and 16% to minimum it really helps with mitigation.
I always buy three of a gun when I buy it and keep the best damage slice I can get and sell the other two.
A good damage slice effects both ends of the damage, this Power up add 16 to minimum on top of that and works as well as the best speed slice.
This combo lacks the ap2 of the lazer, but covers both PvE and PvP very well for me.

I just picked up Carbineer and am going to start dropping the BH stuff, My fav by far is my snubnose. It has a crazy damage and it doesn't hurt much to spam specials with it. I also have a laser that I pull out for the big boys, but I feel the little snub does almost as good due to the low min damage that the laser does. I'm planing on picking up some other carbines tonight.

A smartwarrior will bring all his tools to a fight. I have 5 Krayt Carbines hot-keyed ready for battle of all types: Elite, Laser, DXR6, EE3, DH17 Short.
Each has its distinct advantage but my default is the DXR6 in PvE and the Elite in PvP, but I use them all on a regular basis.

Hrmmm....well this has been most informative, now I am off to try and find Krayt tissue
