Eh, I dont like the elite carbine as a BH. I dont know how accurate my math was, putting an adv stock on both to help the min damage, the laser was almost exactly the same DPS against mitigation III, but against no mitigation the laser outshined the elite. If your really concerned about mitigation go with the dxr6. It has similar stats, cept a little slow but that doesn't matter to you since your BH. The acid damage will go through a PSG.

It's kinda the whole "apples vs oranges" thing again. My view point is from that of a non-BH. Perhaps I should have stated that. Also, "milage will vary" applies, as each player will not have the same stats on their various weapons. I was just trying to give my opinion with hopes that it would enlighten him.

well i'm not a BH myself, but knowing that you can cap anything makes the decision pretty easy. if you don't have a lot of money then buy 4 lasers 4 elite's and 4 DXR6's.. get them all sliced and take the best of each and just carry all 3 around. when the time comes you can quickly determain how armored the enemy is and if he has mitigation then switch to the approprate weapon, cause as of right now switching is instant. but if u can cap then i'd definetly go with the acid dmg cause it works it has high dmg and will cut through just about everything

Enlighten me, rofl. Love your choice of words. I'm going to do some slices in the game and get back to the boards and make a new post, since the more I think about it, the more I realize that I'm not asking what I'm really looking for, hehe. I need to bring the speed cap, damage, and Armor Piercing into the question more, but I also need to get a bunch of elites with some high % slices to compare with my Laser Carbines that I almost exclusively use. This is a habit I am trying to change, and I wanted some opinions, but I have been too unclear to get what I wanted. I'm going to get some slices and start a new thread when I get a chance, lol. This hasn't been a waste, though. Listening to what you all have to say is helping my final question evolve. Thanks again, hehe.

Sounds like what you are trying to get at is "How do I know which one of my carbines will have the best DPS?" To answer that, download my spread sheet HERE. It let's you compare up to 7 different carbines in terms of 5 categories. Basically you can compare everything except various damage types (that's in the works for version 1.3 ). If you have any questions about it, feel free to post here or send me a PM.

Thanks for the stars, Eisman

One quick thing. I'd like to rephrase the original question. In a situation where you have absolutely no idea what your enemy has and no time to figure it out, which gun is it safer to stick with throughout the fight?

Based on the responses, I didn't think what I intended to get accross came accross, hehe.

Another thing. Guns I use are normally high damage Laser Carbines with horrendous speed, but I cap them with BH. Taking the speed cap into the equation is another thing to consider for DPS in the situations I am curious about.

/think Maybe this is more involved than I originally thought...

Thanks again.

This question is very different from the original, not just rephrased.....

In this case always use the DXR6 as it will always work on the top end PvP'ers. Of course it won't be the best vs. the low end, but it is quite easy to tell if somebody has armor or not AND there are still people (me included) that like the Master tag, so you know they have Mitigation 3.

The answer to your question is: yes.

Carry a big nasty laser. If it is doing no damage, switch to a big nasty elite or DXR6.

Therein liesoneof my problems, Nova. In my server, coming acrossmany big nasty (insert carbine(s) here)can be quite a pain. I think many consider tissues wasted on Carbines at this point, and it isn't too much fun to find your own, hehe.

As shocking as this may sound, I didn't own a single krayt weapon until last week. Last week, a player from my server quit and gave me all his carbines. Amoung them were several krayt weapons. Some are very very nice but you know what? They are not better than my PvP carbines. My point, it doesn't take krayt tissues to make a good carbine. Krayt weapons are just not the be-all-end-all many players make them out to be. I see them as status symbols and nothing more because in my experience a normal carbine with an extreme slice will be superior.

I get all my carbines from a weaponsmith who makes stocked and scoped carbines, slices them and then sells them based on the quality of the slice. Quite simply, take a high quality laser, dxr-6 or elite and put a 30%+ slice on it and you have a nasty bad-boy carbine.

If you don't have on your server weaponsmiths who offer this type of service, find a decent weaponsmith who charges fair prices and buy a crate of carbines. Find a master smuggler and ask him to slice all the carbines. Keep your favorites and sell off the rest. This is not as expensive as you might think.

I have 13 Krayt Carbines and the sole purpose is for Speed Capping, so it is almost as easy to get non-Krayt Carbines as good. Nothing shocking there to me

How long before you used SEA's?

Well, if your on Chilastra I'm about to slice 100 dxr6s, 100 lasers, 100 elites, 100 enhanced E11s, all stocked and scoped to hell and back, and I'm planning on making 50 lasers and100 enhanced E11s unstocked. I don't think people like it when you advertise on these forums but check the Chilastra Trade forums in 2-3 weeks (Still on vacation and then I gotta finish grinding smuggler..)

Funny you should say so. I Just had twenty scoped, stocked, and some barreled Carbines sliced today. I ended up with only eight damage slices, six of which are nice and high to my liking. All of the laser carbines I keep with me are just about 100-400 damage, the Elites with good slices averaged to about 200-300 damage, and the DXR6s with good slices averaged to about 200-275 damage. I guess what I thought of Krayted Lasers with 500+ max damage and others when you said "big nasty" hehe.

I ever bring something up that has to do with BH, remember, I'm a Carbineer first and foremost. I only took BH to be a better Carbineer and that was my goal since before publish 7, hehe.

That came out wrong. First of all, the first word should have been 'If' and what I meant by the before publish 7 comment was that my goal has been to bea great Carbineer since before our specials were even working.

...That sounds right, but I bet I'll have to revise at least twice more, lol.

Very nice. If you haven't, pick up some min damage/speed powerups for the elites and dxr6s. You don't need the speed, but +min damage turns them in real death machines. On the laser, you can use min/max powerups since you will mainly be using it vs opponents without mitigation.

As much as I have tried, I can't find min damage/speed powerups. I've seen range mod and HAM costs powerups and mostly min/max powerups, but no min/speed...
