Actually you 'only' ran into the current commando bugs. Would things work properly, the area weapons should (if i understood that right) allow you to transform a single-knockdown and single-snare into an area-knockdown and area-snare for example...
With the problem that it doesn't do that at the moment...

Well, yes but I don't trust that Commando will be fixed and I'd rather have fun now than wish upon a non-existant star.

If commando gets to where it should be post-respec period, great I'll grind back manually, it's not that hard to do. But I'd still need the carbineer and pistol skills to survive. I'd have to drop BH, which isn't the worst possible thing but again, I don't see much point for now.

Good responses guys, much appreciated.

I'm all but settled on M.Carbineer/MBH, but my only big decision now is simple: Master Marksman+Pistoleer xx3, or Pistoleer x4x4?

The accuracy bonus from Master Marksman is very nice, and the speed always helps......BUT, the Pistols defence boost and extra specials make it a deadly PVP combination.

This is the hard part lol.

I go back and forth on this too, but the only real way for you to settle it is to respec into one and try it out then try the other one out. What I have learned from this respec business is that some things which look good on paper just don't work as well for me in reality. Some of the specials that look like theyshould really dominate are not as useful in practice while somethat look wimpy are pretty awesome when used in a certain way. It all comes down to what is comfortable for you in my opinion and that is what I like the most about this new system...it gives multiple viable options. Might also take a look at Pistoleer 4xx4...Grips 4 gives you improved body shot which is a very powerful shot plus some additional general ranged speed which always helps.

I assume you mean Pistols xx44.

The second tree in pistols gives you more accuracy while the third tree give you pistol defense. That being said, if you plan on constantly having a carbine equiped, pistol def will be useles as it only comes into play when you have a pistol equiped. Correct me if I am mistaken.

If the skill mod says Pistols specifically, then yes. For example BH's General mods are applied to any ranged weapon.

Carbs/MBH adds nice speed, crit shot, 2 kd's, leg shot, a hemorage, blind, dizzy, and stun states...ohh did i mention the snare so you can keep 40m away from any melee professions. cant beat carbs hands down.

Pre-CU MBH/M pistoleer/Medic

post CU i tried MBH/M Pistoleer/ x4xx CM

short range can get sticky sometimes vs jedi
found even w fire/poison combos jedi could heal pretty good while applying snares/states to me
damage didnt come quick enough for me to feel as confident about pistols as i did pre-CU

so i respecd to:

MBH/M Pistoleer/ Last Ditch line of smuggler which i believe is 4xxx but cannot remember for sure

ok last ditch was a nice dmg dealer but even w my pistoleer armor i occasionally missed and even when i didnt it usually meant an incap for me as well.

so i respecd to:

MBH/M RIfleman/ x2xx CM (or maybe x4xx CM again, cannot remember)

the damage was a nice upgrade. but teh rifles specials were too inconsistent if they worked at all.
the CM was nice if what ever im shooting at closes range (which was pretty much every time)
IF the specials worked maybe i wouldve stuck w it

so i respecd to:

MBH/M carbineer/ M marksman/ xxx3 pistoleer

like it.
equals rifleman in dmg
leg shot/crit shot combo works for nice dmg against PVE targets. the timers work out well.
stopping shot from pistoleer is always an asset.
w this template u can keep your target(s) stopped, flopped, or snared pretty much the whole fight and if u happen to be a BH working in tandem or group you will find yourself to be an invaluable member to your gank squad..er..I mean....team. lol I kid. I kid.

there ya go.
wookiee out.

Terribly sorry, let me explain. I meant what I said: x4x4, when I said defence I meant the 40+ to ranged and melee from the tech lines.

My bad, I forgot that the 3rd tree gibes "pistol defence".

Just an update so people know, I'm not able to respec, my alt was only a Novice Scout/Rifleman pre-CU, so its gonna be a long grind to a finished template, so I need to get it right. I'm all but settled on NOT getting the Master Marksman box, as a good Speed tape or 2, and a good Carbine, will make the slight speed bonus useless, and the accuracy is solved with food. That leaves 2 full Pistoleer lines. Now the Tech line is utterly decided on, as the 40+ to Ranged/Melee Defence is SWEET, and the Stopping shot is VERY useful(I've been in a group who uses it, VERY good skill.) So which other line to get? They all have advantages.......

Since I can't respec, could someone who has tried all 3, or something similar, give me the run-through of which might be best? PVE IS important, but bearing mind I will probally always do that with friends/groups from now on, I think the line best suited for PVP(All classes, not just Jedi) is my best option.

Much appreciated fellas, I really do love the Carbineer profession, its why I grinded it in the days when it was laughed at. Bless the Carbineers!
