All of the ranged mod numbers are correctly listed above.

Most of those carbines are very much "Assault Weapons" gaining massive bonuses when used at close range.

Yup, PointBlank / Ideal / Long-Range is the order.

I can't say I can explain, but thats how their made.

Every carbine in those models I have ever seen on Naritus have the same ranged mods.

Vol,

I think I didnt describe myself well. Please see:

http://webpages.charter.net/mayers/range.jpg

See how there is a line break between the - and the 45/5/-40??

That is a real negative. If I get 1 meter from a mob I will be in the -45 range to hit. If I stand at 50 meters, I will have a bonus to hit. These are standing values. Further all of my carbines have similar numbers to yours except all my close range ones are negative. I would find it hard to believe your smiths are getting close range bonus swings of 90 (-45 to 45 is a swing of 90).

Carbines are a medium-range weapon and have big penalties at both short and long range. The exception to this are the CDEF carbines and that is why I carry one for I get charged.

Hmm, I resized my windows so they're larger than that, and don't get any line-wrap issues, but I will double check these stats tonight, because you're probably right.

The EE3, however, I know has that really wonky point-blank bonus. The EE3 is a closer range assault machinegun inevery way.

Makes sense to me that all the point blank range modifiers would be negative, due to the simple fact that Ideal Range should give the biggest bonus to hit, after all it is your 'Ideal' range for the weapon...

Vol-

Maybe I missed the earlier thread, but what is different about the EE3 (close range bonus?)?

I have a laser carb that is my main weapon now, but ideally I would like a close range backup if a mob manages to get within melee range. Is the EE3 ideal for that?

I am a giant fool

All weapons have a negative point blank range modifier.

Sorry for the confusion, hope my stupidity didn't adversely affect anyone too badly

As an armorcrafter i can't say acid damage is not going to be of much help. The3 most common armors you'll see in PvP are faction, ubese, and chitin. All 3 protect vs acid as part of their base resistances. I believe padded also protectsvs acid although i'll have to double check my armor.

The only thing acid is really good for iskilling newbsin bone armor.

Your range mods are absolutely incorrect unless you have bugged guns. The first number (close range) is a negative. Also my Laser Carbine has a much bigger close range penalty than yours -45 instead of -38. The minus is on the line above.

Nm you already figured it out, so ignore my post.

The biggest problem with weapons is this: there's no reason to use anything besides the Laser. If AR2 only meant it ignored armor up to 2, then there'd be an argument for using the E11. Unfortunately due to the stupid way armor penetration was implemented (+25% damage for each levelyour gun is higher than the person's armor level), the Laser just does massively more damage.
