Why should I tell you? I earned my xp the hard way. I learned how to use a carbine on my own (heaven forbid). They should make a new profession called the "Holohunters" where you can ask them how to grind fast.

Sorry, just felt like ranting and this looked like a good thread to do it on.

I have no problems getting xp, I'm sitting on about 483k carbine and 180k or so of combat right now. I do have a question though maybe you can help me with. Right now I'm 0-1-0-2. Which path do you recommend going to get to master? I'm gonna try to get to 600k carbine xp before I do anything else. From there I could jump to 1-2-1-3. Would you recommend this or should I concentrate on one tree at a time from here?

I would grab the wild shot skill, then go after crippling shot. Full auto area brings in a lot of xp in certain situations.

Thanks. I was looking at a character builder, when I get wild shot, is the speed bonus at that level +5 or +15? The others are all +5 so I think this may be a typo. I'm at work right now so I can't verify until tonight. Anyone know?

its +5.... we have the lowest speed mods out of the ranged combat classes.

you kill stuff to get xp.... best for me is usually anything on dantooine, i maxed out in carbine xp about 4 days after master from hunting in the force crystal caves.

rae'ven, grab counterinsurgency1 and then focus on the assault tactics tree, then do marksmanship, then finish off counter. you'll be going up the 4th tree as you go anyways, so you should prolly look like this after you get trained 1-1-1-3, or if you have enough xp 2-1-1-3. then do 4-1-1-x then 4-4-1-x

Large group hunts and just nail everything with a burstshot2 once you get it.

I had the best hunting trip of my entire SWG experience last night

Went to a player city on Dantooine to deliver a holocron I was selling, and some people there were grouping up to go hunt. I asked if I could tag along, and they agreed.

Voritor Hunter missions. They're 23k payout. Do not get the other Voritor types cause they have poison & such.

We had a decent size group (5 or 6 I think plus their pets).

I'm not high up - 2/3/1/3 in carbineer

I always keep crates of 'Breath of Heaven', 'Tatooine Sunburn', and 'Ryschcake'. Using that food, I can spam specials at zero cost.

Everyone got 2 missions. By the time we got back to town after that single round of missions, I had accumulated 310k of carbine experience! I'm not good at combat grinding, so that would have taken me a week on my own.

Definately group up with CHs if you can!

You would be suprised how quickly the xp adds up if you shoot everything you see. I wander Tat/Lowca in between my regular day to day grind. There is a strip of no mans land between my house on Mesric Plateau and Anchorhead where nothing pops up it's slimy/wrinkled/hornedhead. Just a line of corpses.

It adds up quick. From that I got 175K in a week. A week from killing sycks, rills, banthas, swoopers etc. If you need to find big things to kill for big experience then it averages out where you camp the sites for the big guys that spawn slowly versus a plethora of small victims overtime.

I live on dantooine so it is easy to get missions from our city -- I kill Pickets and Huurtons -- Huurton Huntresses yield 3000 carbexp + and 300 combat exp+

Pickets yield 2300 carb exp + and 230 combat exp+

With my graul we have no problem killing things.
