Thread: Carbineer Issues: Please Vote
My top five issues are as follows:
4) Resists/Defenses: Simply put, these are nowhere near in line with Pistoleer or Riflemens. Other classes have this same problem.
5) Combat Bonuses (Speed/Accuracy): Simply put, these are nowhere near in line with any other profession.
2) HAM Costs: Reduce the ham costs of our special moves to be in line with those of pistol (or increase pistol, but currently the way HAM costs work it should be a rifle/carbine reduction). Leave the carbine stats higher, though. We only need a 50% reduction, not 75%.
3) Special Moves: Fix these and a lot of other issues will become moot.
15) Target Pool Changes: I was the one who suggested this first (I think). It makes more sense and would help balance out carbineer-vs-pistoleer.
The following did not make my top five:
1) Developer Communication
We shouldn't have to ask for this.
6) Pathetic Armaments (Weapons):
If the specials and stats are fixed, this won't be necessary.
7) Rate of Fire:
Same as above.
8) Comparison to Bounty Hunters:
Again, if our specials worked, this would be less of an issue. If we had comparable accuracy/speed stats (especially at master) then this wouldn't even be an arguement.
9) Stopping When Attacking:
just not high enough priority. If you're running then you already did something wrong. besides, if you /peace, you won't attack anything.
10) Carbine Graphics/Models:
graphics are fine, although some of the anims are off. I think certain carbines (the DHs for one) should use pistol animations.
11) Knockdown/Posture Change Timers:
This is a seperate issue.
12) Crowd Control Options:
This is directly related to above, but I never saw our specialty as being Crowd Controllers anyway. I always envisioned the carbineer as being the most versatile of the three main ranged combat professions.
13) Viablity of Master Carbineer:
True master carbineer doesn't get as much as some profession masters, but others have it worse still that we do.
14) Decreased HAM Costs as a Skill:
This is just an alternate solution for fixing the HAM costs of specials. I like the idea of this being a skill for all weapon types, not just carbines, thus it didn't make my list of carbine issues. Of course, it would partially negate the usefulness of the specials cost stats, so unless the effectiveness of these stats were to be increased, it would unbalance stat migration.
