Thread: What's your Carbineer Template?
Consider the top issues with carbines are HAM costs, speed and defenses. Carbineer with Fencer adresses the defenses problem. Speed attachments put me at around +85 speed, a vast improvement over +60 speed.
Can't do anything about damage types or the master carbineer box, but you can plug the other holes in the profession. I like Carbineer/Fencer because you can't plug defenses with attachments, but you can bring up speed and accuracy to respectable levels.

If they screw up the stacking of speed in the combat revamp, I'll drop the BH stuff and pursue the upcoming Droid Commander.
Master Carbineer and Master pikeman with 1/0/3/0 scout so i can harvest since i do mostly pve. I like it because no matter where my target is i can hit the same pool reliably. I also find that what i hunt seems to have at least a single lower resist to the damage types that i can use so i am always doing decent damage. Its actually quite fun to go into afight and not know if your going to live whereas with tkm or master fencer (i was both with M carb) almost anything is too easy to solo. I cant wait for the combat revamp to see how two of the the least favored combat profs make out. Should be interesting times.

My alternate just made Master CM and has been a master Carbineer for about a month now. I'm looking forward to being effective in pvp now and the ultimate support roll in groups.
By the way master Carbines has to be the funnestcharacter in pve.

cool thing with Ranger was you got to see lots and lots of creature info, but for some reason, anyone can see most if that info now.... why did they do that?
I am not a master carbineer (was one prior to pub 7)
My template as follows: Master Teras Kasi, Doctor 0/4/4/0, Carbineer 0/0/0/3.
This gives me the balance i wanted w/o losing the ability to buff. Though i still wish i had more skill points, but i'm very happy with this setup.
Carbineers main skill is *crowed or single control thru head states* Which allows me the chance to use my TK skills to finish the battle...after a nice burst run ![]()
I must say, the combo of TKA/Carbineer is very good.

Course 2h swords does give you additional counterattack. Fencer on the other hands gives you lots more ranged and melee defense as well as state defenses. I couldn't tell you how well counterattack works, I don't get hit that much anymore in the first place!
I went with fencer cause I want skills to augment carbineer... defenses in this case. If you get MHS you might find yourself using a hammer or scythe more than a carbine, because you simply do lots more damage with them. Personally I think MHS is a bit dull... MHS is all about damage, lots of damage and not much more. If I just wanted to pwn the shiznit with tons of damage I'd get rifle/mhs or some such instead of carbineer/fencer.
