So let me get this straight: People are complaining about Carbineer NOT being an underdog profession?
Are you crazy?
If you want a true feeling of underdog, keep playing Commando or Ranger. They were screwed before, they're screwed even harder now.
Do that, and you will immensely like Carbineer. Carbineer was enjoyable Pre-CU, and it is still enjoyable. It doesn't have that same flair to it, but Carbineer FUNCTIONs.
Even Commando can't say that anymore (coming from a former hardcore Commando).

Exactly, but TKM isn't an underdog... actually it's a powerful profession.

Another thing with seeing Carbines everywhere:
ANYONE, can use ANY weapon, provided they have the proper CL and Prerequisites. A Master Pistoleer can use an Elite Carbine, for example.

Before the CU the Carbineer forums were nothing but complaints about our lack of speed or role in the game...
Be careful not to complain about every little change, we don't want the Carbineer forumsbecoming likethe jedi forums now do we? ![]()

Should be lots of carbines. I mean, in a situation where the galaxy is in war, you would think that Carbines would be the main choice of the soldiers (and most of SWG players are soldiers for their side.) Pistols are a bit too close, and rifles are a bit too "special use", while carbines are all-around good.
All the stormies were carbineers, and many of the Rebels were...

/agree. same thing in RL. American troops primarily carry M16s, while others carry Ak47s. They are ASSALT rifles, and the best choice in armed conflict. In addition, several boards are complaining about respecs into their professions (smugglers, bounty hunters, rifles, carbs, etc.) Anyone that has played this game for a prolonged period of time has certainly paid their dues so let it go.

Just a tad bit of thought. You can throw in "Assault Rifles" into the SWG Carbine category. The Carbines in real life, like the M4, would be equivalent to the DC15 Carbine (35m range). The M16A2, AK-47/74, G36, etc., can be the SWG equivalent to the E11 Mark II and Elite Carbines (50m range).
You could probably throw in battle rifles like the G3, FN-FAL, M14, etc. into SWG Rifles category, with the Laser Rifles and T21 (64m range).

Yep, just like I do
Sold my soul to stack the stats, thanks for that combat revamp
Design goal of the combat revamp "Stop Flavour of the Month templates", stunning accuracy on that target wouldn't you say?

Blame the respec. People always wanted to be a Bounty Hunter, but they never wanted to grind the Investigation tree. Plus, the coolest looking gun in the game is a carbine at Master Bounty Hunter certification, so that's going to attract a lot of respec Carbineers if they chose not to dabble in Rifleman.
