I understand your gripe, I am 1/3/2/2 in carbiner and yes there is a lot of deficency. But grab one other carbiner friend, get buffed by a doc, go to dantoonie, find a pikut lair, start spaming it with AS2. Have fun getting about 20k xp in 5 minutes plus the hide/meat.

As for pvp? same deal, see how long a real pvp fight lasts (real = something like 5-10 of you vs 10-20) when you have one or two BH, two to three carbiners, two reflemen, a CM, a squadleader, and a swordsmen. You don't even know the potential of this. Carbiners can heard them all into a little group, posture change THEM ALL, and start hiting them with AOE damage. the BH can take out specific targets like oposing BH or medics in a few hits. And dare I say OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG but pair 2 riflement using flurry shot with 2 carbiners using AS2 and what do you get? A LOT OF DEAD BODIES WITH RED NAMES. Now throw in a CM using AOE mind effects, and AOE healing you all, a squadleader to clear all your dizzys and stuns, and keep high level wounds dispersed, and a swordsmen, with such powerful melee mind hits its just scary, to take out anyone that is stupid enough to get near you. I am sorry, but in a group is where the carbiner thrives, and in a gorup with a few other supporting classes, that is where the carbiner owns, period.

First of all, I didn't leave because of other people's post but posts by the Devs.

I just checked every post I could find from Holo and I found zero mention that the changes are PvP only. So, even if they have made them, they certainly are not easy to find.

Could you provide a link to your statement that these only effect PvP?

Don't surrender your skills so quickly, Novamarine.

I don't think the devs could be so stupid to nerf the entire Carbineer class, and I doubt they will apply a 30 second immunity to PvE. Last night I was watching this kid spamming a knockdown on another player at Mos Eisley and I realized they have to do something for PvP (lets not go into the overpowered mind shots heh)

Having said that.. if they do go ahead and do this.. I won't surrender my carbineer skills: I'll surrender my account.

Paying for what is effectively an open beta I can just stomach... but being *#$'ed around by short-sighted, nerf-happy devs it more than I will take.

So basically your argument was "HAM costs are too high and AOE isn't that good." Okay, now go try being a Rifleman and have fun crawling back to Carbines.

or go to pistol and be better with only the 4 blocks of marksmanship pistol.

carbine is crap. but i do have to say if everyone switches to pistol then maybe carbines might get fixed.

pistol > carbine and rifle.

I like to be the devil's advocate so here goes

1. "The damage from a carbine, while massive, is not group friendly." Try being in a group with a couple carbineers, i usually hunt with my dad and neighbor, we are all carbineers, 3 people doing legshot 3 for huge numbers is way better than a bunch of pistoleers.

2. "The HAM costs on carbines are rediculous and require you to keep secondary stats high to counter HAM drain." I agree, the HAM costs are a little high, but throw in some medic skills and you never have to worry. I'm master medic and HAM rarely bothers me. Throw in a master doc and you can kiss ham problems goodbye.

3. "However, they have limited use on the hard planets where accidentally aggroing an extra creature means the death of the whole group." I've saved many a group on endor from throwing ae full auto 2 when someone pulled too many mobs, doing 3k damage to a bunch of mobs is extremely helpful no matter what pool it hits.

That's just my opinion, I may be wrong =)
