Pistoleers are NOT powerful. They only seem powerful because everyone abuses the dabbling system and gets the pistol specials from other professions (BH/Smuggler), but have you seen the Pistoleer trees themselves? One tree is ENTIRELY devoted to accuracy. We have like 7 moves that all do the same thing, higher damage to random pools, we have a bunch of defense bonuses that do not work, and both the master specials either do not work or will be nerfed the moment the next patch is released (nerfs are already up in TC).
Yes Pistoleers were overpowered back in the day of the constant pistol whip spamming, but those days are over. I'm not going to pass any judgement about carbineers since I don't know anything about them, but I can safely tell you that Pistoleers are hardly strong as a base profession.
