my set up all fits in one bar between two professions. basically i have in the first two chunks of the bar all my carbineer attacks i use plus kneel and prone. I arrange my attacks so the single is on top and the aoe version i on the bottom to make sure that if i accidently hit an f key i dont aggro everything. The last chunk of my bar has my squad leader abilities and the macros i use with them. plus burst run i think. I like my set up it is fairly new and i tested it out in pvp last night and it is good for me. everything is very accessible

I have always put weapons in left section, attacks in middle, and helper stuff like armor macroes food and heals in the right. With expansion beyond the boundaries as appropriate and food and heals in same spot. I accidentaly put singles from carbon top and aoe on bottom but the f key thing to prevent area agro is cool. My current issue is that I have 4 nice dot carbs and of course the light hammed dh-17 for non buffed situations a regular laser and an enhanced e-11, I was trying to put the health dots side by side then the action dot then the mind dots. I can put those all on the pertinent Carbine bar butit puts the top and bottom of my carbine attack aea out of synch. Ipicked up master doc and things are a mess there since I need macroed keys for healing my own states to target myself. Maybe I will try the normal heal on top self heal on bottom thing. I end up on the doc bar a lot since I usually care for my whole group so i like to leave a few crabine specials there and this is where I only get a few choice :-( Have only had doc a few days but I am jumping into the PVP just to get my toolbars tuned hehe.

i use alias's. /alias laser /ui action toolbarPane02 (switches to pane 3) ; /ui action toolbarSlot01 (the slot my icon for laser carb is in pane 3) ; /ui action toolbarPane01 (the toolbar my carbine specials are in)
so when i type /laser it switches panes, equips laser carb (unequiping whatever weapon i had) and goes to my carbine toolbar. i set an alias up for each carbine i have so if i'm in pikeman mode and something runs away, i just type /laser (or /dxr or /dh (dh17) etc) and i go immediately into the appropriate toolbarpane for my carbine attacks/specials. now with the weapon change lag, i simply added a /clearcombatqueue (or whatever that command is) into it.
the only thing is, i still havent found anything listing alias in the help section. i sorta stumbled on it from being a text mudder and always using alias's.

Your only a carbineer I'm a MBH I have so many good shots but can't fit em all on one, So I'm gonna use one pane for carbines and the other for pistols.

just a tip for some of you guys out there.
instead of making needless macros for switchign panes which also take up a toolbar slot, just use this simple command.
ctr f1 for pane one, ctr f2 for pane 2 and so on. I thought this was obvious but it seems like some people didnt know about this. It is a huge factor in combat for me. i have a pane for foods, a pane for carbines, a pane for pistols, a pane for melee, and so on, i can switch between them instantly without hassle

This is what I did:
If I have Full Auto Single 1 and I get Full Auto Single 2 i replace Full Auto single 1 with 2, but thats common sense.
Find out which attacks you use the most often in combat and put those on the top level because they are easy to hit without having to hit shift.
Once you get that figured out try it out for a while and if it doesnt work like you want ,rearange them but it will take a bit to get used to.

I've set up my client to act in Modal Chat mode, which means I have to press Enter before I can type anything. This allows me to assign macros to each keyboard key and use them with a single stroke. It's a fantastic setup, and though it takes a little while to get used to (you can't just type anymore without healing random strangers or inviting your pet to your group
), it really frees up your toolbar for foods, spices, weapons, and other things you can't activate with just macros. My toolbar has 7 or 8 weapons, a few handy macros for boarding shuttles, and lots of food and spice in it. The rest is handled through the following keyboard scheme.
I have my inputs set up like this... the first command listed is activated with just that key, and the second (if there is one) activated by SHIFT + key:
A: ActionShot1, ActionShot2
S: ScatterShot2
D: ChargeShot1, ChargeShot2
F: FullAutoSingle2, FullAutoArea2
Z: Clear Combat Queue
C: CripplingShot
V: BurstShot1, BurstShot2
Q: LegShot2, LegShot3
W: WildShot1, WildShot2
E: Death Blow, /open
R: Drag Incapacitated Player
T: Steady Aim, Retreat
Y: Rally
U: Form Up
I: Invite
P: /who imperial
G: FirstAid, FirstAid self
H: Heal, Heal self
K: /tellpet kill
L: Loot All
X: /examine
M: Mount, Dismount
1: Equip armor macro
2: Equip clothing macro
I really recommend a similar setup for most people. It affords very natural and smooth access to all your specials and valuable actions.

Yes.... I was wondering if others did this. But I didnt quite go as far as you but I have considered it. I am basically in old "Tribes" WASD mode for movement I have a few things on other keys. I use insert to enter chat mode and I right click to change mouse mode.
Being a CM/Carbineer, Dunno if I will ever perfect my toolbar hehe.....
