Liez! No mind-specific. Mediocre damage in end-game play. Area KD/states not potent in end-game play / PvP. Does mix with professions.. but lack of defenses and speedmeans it must be purely offense (BH) or defense (stacking), but not both.

ChargeShot does look cool.. albeit a bit silly.

Ok.. ok.. a well-equipped Carbineer kicks major butt in PvP. I get many tells about: "I thought Carbineer was an underdog/broken/nerfed/disadvantaged/unbalanaced/weak/crappy/etc profession?"

It is.. but not really. Don't tell anyone, though.

I only partially agree with your points. Carbineer alone isn't effective at all for multiple reasons outlined in the FAQ. Coupled with a few select profession choices, it can easily become PvE- or PvP-viable.. and with the right equipment and strategy, can easily compete with the generic templates out there.

It still has several pitfalls though, and in the name of general profession balance.. for the most part, I accept them. Were our profession to be "the beast of SWG" as you call it.. we'd be getting nerfs left and right and people wouldn't be laughing at our Master Carbineer tag.

But they do, heh. Altogether I'm rather satisfied with our profession. Certain mixes like Pikeman/Doc or general defense-stacking/Doc will give us a hard time, simply because of the ineffectiveness of our state specials. Nevertheless, a BH/Carbineer or Carbineer/Defense-stacker can easily beat several professions out there if he/she has the knowledge of how to go about doing so.
