While we may be lacking in defenses, it's very doubtful that such changes would come to our profession before the revamp. Adding a bit of defenses right now might remedy the situation for a bit (or not), but considering everything would be changing entirely.. perhaps even our role, it'd rather be useless.


Carbineer was never really made for defenses, though. It's made for applying states and posture changes, and it just so happens that a lack of programming foresight allows players to counter those by stacking defenses.

In my opinion I would say this is an issue, it appears that they forgot to add melee defense to the carbineer classto me.








Do please remember rifleman have a mod that allows then to be hit considerably easier in Melee which seems to counteract the entire melee defense so our effective melee defense is zero. (we at one time also had a 2.5-3x damage mod for when we were struck by a melee combatent (thank god that is gone))

btw: your correspondent truely fights hard for you in the CU - a blessing to your Profession (and to some of us a pain in the A$$ (but that is a good thing in this case))

That wasnt meant to be a pointed attack, I think we have the most organized correspondant on the boards. I would love to see someoneas organized and outspoken asFirehawk running the bounty hunter forums.


I wanted todisplaythat comparison because when you see it, its fairly startling, and I dont think its fair to say that carbineer should be the lone standardcombat class without defenses, or with negligable defenses. There may be changes on the way, but until we see them there is no reason not to expect posts like this. I am going to post about problems I see within the current system whether they may be redundant posts, or even if others dont think they are relevant.


I had forgotten about the rifleman defense modifier change that went through awhile back, that sure purged the servers of a lot of riflemen didnt it hehe.
