I love my 59-603 3.1 Krayt Laser...
Why are you two not on my server? I want to play w/ those guns, lol
I made it myself...Oh the joys of having MWS as a template option...What I lose in MODs I can make sure I make up for in firepower!
Were you on my server you could do the /examine and notice the MWS badge on me too. It's very nice. I ended up dropping it b/c at the time didn't have the money and the whole slicing thing was more stress than a poor noob crafter can handle, lol

Lots of great, informative info in this post. Many things I was unaware of too.
All of the statistical and factual reasoning is good enough to base a decision on for a swap to Carbineer. However, you might also consider the demeanour and feel of carbineer. Not in themselves anything worthy of swaying a template change but nice to know perhaps.
IMHO Carbineers are distinct from other ranged classes in the way they use or are perceived to use their weapons. I have great respect for the power of riflemen and pistoleers but just check out the graphics close up next time you open up with your carbine.....mmmm....ANGRY! Hehe.
Having attacks particular to Carbineer like Full Auto (particularly Full Auto Area) help to define us as warriors. Riflemen are feared specialists at long range and their patience and precision are legendary. Pistoleers are feared for their agility and close combat skill.
And what of Carbineer? Well, imagine the aggression and mentality of somebody opening up on an entire group of people after flicking the full-auto switch. To me this is one of the most satisfying moments in PvE and PvP....when you are momentarily ignored on the perimeter of a major scrap, you survey the chaos and bloody barbarity of civilized beings killing each other, calmly flick the full-auto switch on your favourite carbine and machine gun them all straight to hell....hehe. The added joy of people flopping like fish out of water en masse with Charge Shot 2 is a beautiful thing *sniff sniff*.
I love my profession.

Well carbineer is a good PvP class as long as they arnt hitting you
I can kill rifleman, pistoleers, TKAs, Pikeman, Swordsman, Fencer, and Jedi. It only gets bad when they are KD stacked or dizzy stacked, rule of thumb is to keep them on their back or kneeling ALWAYS dizzy and stuned. after you get by those barriers figure out what gun suits you best on what class, such as a DXR6 on fencers and a Laser Carbine on Rifleman.

Uhm, i don't know the stats of your carbines, but in the majority of cases the laser carbine is the best choice against pure melees (no ranged mitigation) and the DXR6 against rangeds (ranged mitigation), that being said it's the other way around.

Not being a Bounty Hunter and thus not really involving myself too much into low-to-mid level Padawan "PvP", in my experience, those that PvP frequently (in other words, those that go Overt to seek PvP) are either full-fledged Jedi Knights or those that can compete with such knights.. In other words, everyone is dizzy & KD stacked.
I rarely bother with KDs at all in PvP anymore, since Thakatillo alone gives any profession an immediate effective cap on KD defense. Non-stacked templates also use Dizzy food, including Jedi, so sticking that state without something like Sprayshot or ConfusionShot is pretty difficult.. you have to rely primarily on "hoping" it sticks after a Stun and following with Posture-changes.
As far as "good only if we don't take damage", I'm not sure if I agree with that, considering that anyone essentially takes the same amount of damage, mitigation and unarmed toughness aside. It doesn't really matter if you're a Rifleman, Carbineer or Pistoleer.. the same armor and foods will result in the same HAM bar loss, regardless of what's hitting you. Agreed, our lack of Ranged and Melee defense (or Dodge) does passively affect us in that the frequency of shots hitting us is increased.. but it's not so much that there's a huge gap between our ability to evade shots as any other ranged profession.
A Carbineer's only weakness in terms of "staying alive" in PvP are his/her ability to stand up (resist dizzy/KDs) and effectively keeping a distance between their opponent. Even if we barely evade, counterattack, etc., taking damage, unless we're up against Jedi/DoTs, shouldn't be too much of a problem for our profession. It'd effectively dishing it back (without the use of godly 1100 Laser Carbines..lol) which is a problem, if anything.

I personally love the Carbine. I have a BH/Master Rifleman that works people other than Jedi, and I am considering changing his focus to Master Carbineer. My carbineer is also grinding Combat Medic, and it is sweet. Lack of defense is as bad with the healing ability, and high end NPC's may not be affected by Cabine states, but they are by the Combat Medic. You want to see tears, check out the PVP fools who didn't realize the Carbineer was the combat medic until it was too late.
