Thread: So how does one beat someone with armor, buffs and stim Bs?
Allow me to elaborate. If you are going to rely on stun damage mind attacks then i as a defender need really only wear one piece of armor a stun compoiste helm.In fact theres no need for me to pick novice medic eitherWhy protect my other pools when you arent going to attack them anyways. Sounds ridicoulous but try it in our current pvp environment. A guild mate tried it it out and lasted as long as idid in major pvp and only went down on a disease incapChances are you going down by mind incap anyways cause its all 90 % of pvpers aim for. This reliance on the same tactics is a weakness in and of itself. A person must be able and willing to adapt to the situation or eventually he going to be outdated and lose constantly.
Fact is the game of tactics is like a race. And you dont win races by following other peoples examples. If one truly wants to be the best they have be on their toes constantly looking for ways to counter the current battlefield. They dont sit around saying im useless nor do they sit around saying im the best. They constantly are looking for the edge they need. If the battlefield becomes similar they look for new tactics new approaches that while may seem wierd to the general public make sense if you look at it the right way. Sometimes the tactics fail sometimes they dont. However they keep searching. The point is that if carbineers want to become effcient in battle we cant sit around whining how we dont have a stun weapon or a nice mind attack. The devs have given certain cards to play. We can either try to refine our game and try to come up with new tactics, sit on our bums or go join the legion of mindless drones that constantly graviate to the current flavor of the month. The choice is yours and yours alone bt i know what i plan on doing.

My your own admission you haven't been a Carbineer. Your post is pure ignorance. We can lay states, we can KD, we can do lots of things. We just cannot kill anyone with buffed secondaries.
In fact.. with the high damage/high ham carbines many of us have gone to we do more damage to ourselves per special than we do to our opponents.
The only effective Carbineers we have on Valcyn own Mind poison/ Mind Fire exceptional loots. There are a few Carb/Docs and Carb/Cms that hold thier own somewhat. I chose to go Master Carb/ BH carb III. I have super speed and accuracy but what's the point? I cannot inflict enough damage to take down the buffed/comped opponent that is the norm in pvp.
In a group I excell... but others do the killing and take advantage of the states I can lay down in a hurry. If I get jumped alone by a mindshooterI'm dead. period.
Play the class before you offer advice. You don't have a clue about it.

er...Shadusdarkmour, question...
how do you suggest we overcome things like...armor ratings, resistances, modifiers on specials, and carbine selection? please...if you think all everyone's doing here is sitting around complaining 'bout stun, enlighten us as to how we can circumvent concrete game mechanics and basic math?
i think this is just another thread that shows a growing awareness of how absurd buff+armor are nowadays. what are the professions that are the most powerful in PVP right now? easy...rifle & CM, merely because they can function in the current combat system...CMs don't care 'bout amazing armor in their way, and riflemen can pierce thru even 40% stun-layered composite to deal significant damage while we have ZERO ability to kill them in turn.
i've never felt a stun carbine was the solution to our problems, we need the fabled "combat revamp" that we'll all die before we see happen, we need it to scale down rifle & cm's, we need it to make mind healable, and we need it to make us viable in damage ability. but short of getting REAL balance, the smartest tactics in the world won't let you win against someone ready to take a beating...not w/ a carbine.

Well right now not too much. Just scatter shot and hope they are lazy , broke are uncompotent. Then hopefully try some form of a disabling move(knockdown posture change dizzy etc). I know for fact that even some of the best pvpers dont bother with whole suits as few shoot for little more than mind. But relying on that fact isnt much better than relying on a stun weapon. Personally i think your post hits the nail on the head. alotta point ive been harping on for a month or two in there. 5 stars from me. hopefully we see balance soon but until we do I will refuse to give in. You wont ever see any of my characters sporting rifle or cm tags.( I've been fencer since day one). I see now my post was maybe a little too belittleing. However i will probably be here for awhile so i hope my presence doesnt become an annoyance, but keep in mind, I'm no profit butI refuse to accpet the current situation and am always looking to develop better tactics. If i come up with anything profound I will let you guysknow first.
I need to pvp and test this out
