With over 1k strenght/constitution/stamina/quickness specials drain very little and it is regened before the next special.

The fact that they drain very little mind is very nice because mind/focus/power are the only stats a doctor can't buff.

So Ali, you're saying the carbineer is fine, AFTER being buffed... I can't point a finger on it, but theres something screwy with that....

I am the buffer.

So stop comparing simple master carbineer that requires 92 skill pts with master BH or commando that requries over 200...

If the devs made those professions comparable then any carbineer with a secondary profession would be the most powerfull combination out there.

Besides carabineer have some nice advantages like a decent AP2 weapon.

Yes in unarmored fights a commando does more damage but factor in AP0 on flamethrower and laser carbine AP2 and we outdamage them if both opponents wear armor...

LOL even in full armor a commando with a flamethrower would still 1 or 2 shot you

the reason we complain about BH is that they only have to go up one tree to outdo our 4 trees and master level. they might as well just get rid of carbineer and make BH carbines 4 title carbineer lol.

oh ya i also love how they are making pistols on my server with damage over the best damage on our laser carbines, and speed lower than our fastest dh17's and lower HAMs than ours all rolled into one gun. its awsome

Mhhh, i am 3,3,1,2 carbiner now and ok without tatoonien sunburn you can forget it(HAM costs too high). But besides that, except BHs i pretty much win all 1 vs.1 fights(even master commandos)and in a group the KD is just awesome to give my groupmembers enough time to take someone out.

Psst Ali .. did you know BH is a multi class? You guys dont JUST get 1 weapon skill and your skills are for tracking targets as well as the ability to use multiple weapon types.. THATS WHY YOU COST MORE! Carbineer spend all his time on one weaon.. thats why it costs less skill.. not because its any less the BH.

So don't use the skill point cost cr*p! If carbineer got the skills BH got along with other weapon skills.. it would be a BH and need scouting as well LOL.

So simma down now!

Scatter pistol costs a lot to fire and at 1 second per shot action goes bye-bye. Problem for opponentsis I always down 2 Tat Sunburns anytime I might be in PvP so the only damage I take is from the enemy.

Why oh why does every post that starts out constructive on the weapon profession boards get hijacked by BH? Don't be so paranoid, not all threads that discuss potential changes to other professions mean that BH is gonna be nerfed, jeeze.

I do not care about BH or their relative abilities. I could not care less if they made BH demi-gods, annointed them the kings of SWG and let them kill 10 Jedi in a single shot. Where BH sits in the pecking order and the carbineers relation to that pecking order is irrelevant to the issue at hand.

The issue is that the Carbine tree has some significant negatives in terms of HAM usage, broken specials and the relative usefulness of their weapons.

It is also worth mentioning that all of these issues have been mentioned in the combat dev post on combat classes and are being looked into/fixed. However it is always useful to make sure that these threads do not go off the radar even if there is a better than even chance many of our concerns will be addresses because the fact is the squeky wheel gets the grease in this game.

If anyone is lookint to start a BH vs -insert combat profession here- i suggest they go over to the pistoleer forum. I always enjoy those flame fests and there is almost certainly one going on right now. On the carbineer forum however you are just shooting fish in the barrel.

So given our negatives why am I carbineer? I enjoy it even with all of its issues and look forward to see how our profession is improved.

1) Cackling with glee as I open up repeatedly with a full auto area attack on a cloud of aggros chewing on my poor pet.

2) Having people say "you're a what?" when I tell them I am a carbineer.

3) Looking extremely cool as a fish with a machine gun. Carbine users look the best of all the ranged classes, imho - in combat or out.

4) AR2 of the laser carbine - gotta love this gun.

5) The hope of being "king of the drive-by" once vehicles and mounts are introduced.

HAM costs are painful, half the specials don't seem to work as intended/at all - but I agree the profession has definite potential. Look into the HAM vs damage dealt vis a vis rifles and pistols and I'd be happy if it's in line. If we're paying as much extra HAM per point of damage dealt that most of us think we are, that should be dealt with. Fix the specials, and I'd be in heaven. It's a fun profession, but needs some TLC.

Simply saying "get master doc" doesn't cut it. I am working on that but not every carbineer should have to go to med school.

Agreed, Gutshot. I've more than posted my opinions on this profession, so no more repeating. I shouldn't have to go to med school as a carbineer if the other combat classes don't have to.......but here I am.

Yeah I finally just gave up and became a doctor to fuel my carbineer habit myself. Such potential - but I can see why folks who have been waiting since day one are annoyed - seems not much has changed for the carbineer since day one (cept knockdown/posture change timer nerf).

Fingers crossed for evil vehicular mayhem - starting with drive-bys on my kaadu next major patch, or so the devs seem to be saying hehe.
