Honestly (and I'm not being negative or flaming) I would spend time on rifles or pistols than Carbines. They are just too borked right now.

As much as I try to leave I'm going back to my Laser most of the time. Maybe I'll throw in a E11 ora DXR6 but the Laser works well for me.

Carbines are simply too slow, too HAM intensive and not damaging enough for this kind of testing at this point in time. Wait until the devs devote some time to the carbineer profession (or state that the guns are working as intended and not going to be changed) before going forward. Before anyone who doesn't play the profession pipes in with their 2 cents I'm talking about speed in relation to speed mods. Carbineers get the least amount of speed mods out of rifleman, pistoleers and carbineers. I have yet to understand why a carbineer gets less total speed mods than a pistoleer. If a pistol is the fastest weapon and the rifle is the slowest weapon then shouldn't riflemen get the most speed mods and pistoleers the least? As it stands now riflemen get the most speed mods, pistoleers are second and carbineers get the least. Also before I get flamed I don't want pistoleers nerfed I want carbineers improved.

Yes I'm a carbineer and I'm saying this. I have no problems with the status quo but would like to see this kind of focused testing when the profession is addressed by the devs.

I like to use three diffrent weapons pending what or who I am hunting.

DXR6 : Acid is great. Some times the ONLY thing that works well.

Laser : Damage is great and AP to boot!

EE3 : Heat and Speed are great.

To me it is all about the damage and then speed then HAM

As far as ham cost I will pay a couple of K in creds to not worry aobut it.

As far as cost. I will pay for what ever is the best. no more than a 200k no need for more the damage to cost is not there. like a rocket launcher or something tha does 5000 pts of damage. that pay 2mill for. I cant handle that kind of money.

I dont post much in this forum but i guess i should... ive had a 2nd account with master ch and master carbine for quite some time now...

anyway, about guns... it seems to be a resource and DEMAND issue. Some comps they are not bothering to collect, and you'll be hard pressed to find a smith that will do a 'custom' factory run of components with your materials for 1 gun... its kinda of circular without a real way to get out of it, unless you start crafting your own guns (like docs crafting their own meds)... but obviously this isnt the case.

I typically use EE3 and DXR6's consistently, and variance on the laser is not worthy of high level play. You are much better off knowing you are doing 1k with each hit than doing 200 once, 2000 the next, then 300 after that (you're gonna get yourself killed with that tactic). I see NICE weapons of other sorts (rifles, commandos, etc) but rarely do you see a good effort on carbines.

Although laser may have med armor penetration, for PvE, most animals do not have medium armor, and those that do, you should be afraid of, and it shouldn't be 'cake' to fight anyway... they are the minority. As for everything else, your DXR, ee3, or elite will work well, with the EE3 being overall the 'cheapest' and most consistent to use. Stocks kill HAM.. doc buffs alleviate the problem, but if you dont have them, you will literally LOSE MORE HAM BY USING SKILLS THAN ACTUALLY GETTING HURT BY GUN FIRE WHEN YOU PVP WITH FULL ARMOR... think about that one : )

EE6's use them up... use them with min dmg/speed powerups (if you aren't at speed cap).. why min damage? Instead of just cranking up max damage to a number you will rarely hit, using min dmg raises your average damage overall and MAKES VARIANCE SMALLER (do the math).

Most carbines i've seen on chilastra are 46-264 3.6

I got one speed sliced and it's now 2.7

I also have a 78 - ~180 2.1 sub nose

would be nice to see faster un-sliced carbines or this speed but with more power so you don't need to always use power-ups.

I guess i will have to go hunt some krayts soon to achieve what i would like to have.

i think we all look for a great elite carbine.

i heard the problem is only the resources. what resources does it lack to make a really good one?
