Get a pet to help you finish carbineer. I think that CH and Carbineer is a good combo. True you need buffs and food and brandy but being CH helps alot and lets you take on bols and stuff on dant. by yourself. Good luck it takes a while but Master Carbineer is well worth the wait.

also try a vendor in city above Wookshire on Dant. not sure of the name but he has good weapons

Good Luck

There is NO WAY a pet will hurt your XP per hour. It will lessen the XP per kill but greatly increase the # killed and at a higher difficulty to maximize XP.

Took me 6 sets of buffs, constant brandy, 6 crates of speed p-ups, and 55%+ compo. Went to Dathomir and fought every wild spawn i could find, save rancor. I recomend kamurith defiler as they have no resists to speak of. Drawback is that they disease, so i wouldnt readilyrecommend it to just anyone, but i'm master doc so i had no worries there. In about four days i had it. I will agree that this is the most "pay your dues" profession i have done. Just keep plugging at it Foe, it can be discouraging as hell but only if you let it.

Thanks for the replies again guys, and I did finally manage to get my 350k xp yesterday.

However, why in the world would I want a PET eating up my valuable XP I could earn. After all I didn’t get a Creature Handling Holo. I could probably chew through more missions more quickly, but that’s just Credits not XP. Maybe some of this is my fault as I am not running around actually doing Carbine missions, but Level 20-25 or higher missions. I guess if you run around attacking worrts and Squills you probably don’t have an issue with hitting the target, but you don’t get any XP either.

I think I have it licked today though, as I have Expert Carbine Marksmanship now and am hoping for some real improvement with hitting the target. Otherwise I guess I will have to wait until my skill is PLUS 120 to hit! Currently my skill is 95 and I was to tired to try it yesterday after completing that skill so I’ll give it a go today. I believe I am over the “to hit” hump now and if not, its sure to be the Master Carbine Marksmanship.

However, the truth is during this whole ordeal I did notice that Carbines miss too much comparatively to other skills and weapons. The evidence is undeniable actually as Carbineer will not run at the same level as other skills of a comparative level. (The Developers can feel free to check this out for themselves if they wish).

This is not a good skill comparatively to others, and I guess that is why you don’t see too many PvP Carbineer’s running around! Each and everyone of these skill or classes we have in this game has its ups and downs, but so far I cannot see the Up side to Carbineer (while still keeping Master Marksman).

Thanks for the helpful hints everyone, and they did help me evaluate my performance. I guess I’m not doing as poorly as some people, but this is a Hard Grind. Its not all fun and games and it’s a lot of overtime compared to other skills.

One good thing will come out of this Carbineer HOLO actually, as ANYTHING else will seem easy by comparison to get done. I cannot think of one skill or one class that is actually as hard as this one to level in and its this time consuming also.

If you want some advice thrown back at you from someone doing a hard grind, dump the pets unless you have a Creature Handling Holo. If you have a Creature Handling Holo dump Carbineer and do something else, actually anything else LOL.

Thanks again for the helpful advice and I believe I’m over the hump now and should be done shortly. The only real issue is missing too much and once I get that licked its all down hill from there and an easy grind.

Thanks again.
