Thread: Why do people think that cripple shot is our best move?

one thing you guys have to keep in mind is species, i play a bothan with 600 quickness and 300 strength and 450 focus, my cripple only costs 116 on my laser carbine and 119 with my DXR6, however it costs about 75% action, if i use burst2 my ham cost is barely any lower but it uses about 60% health. 2 reasons i like cripple over burst is the action HAM use and higher dammage. if i use a health costing attack i cant bump up my health bar to compensate like i can action.

u guys think that ur 116 and 130 hams are bad, my laser carbine and dxr6 do an average of 223 ham to me and have spd of 4.5 so what would be better burst or cripple.

I wish people would stop telling me that burstshot is faster than crippleshot even with high speed mods. My burstshot = 1 sec. My crippleshot = 1 sec. Burstshot = 5x damage. Crippleshot = 7.5x damage.

The speed cap is the speed cap...or are we playing in the Matrix and you can bend reality?

Congrats to you for mastering the speed line, but for the rest of us who are not quite there yet, rate of fire has to be given consideration in relation to the timer cycling for various shots.Bottom line, for the greater population of Carbineers, CripplingShot is slower than BurstShot1 (BurstShot2 does not do substantially more damage than 1 because of a bug)

As for HAM costs, BurstShot1 with my Elite Carbine puts me back 63, CripplingShot 112. Now on THAT tack, as yourself,1.5 times more damage to my target, TWICE as much damage to me? Not logical.

Well, without knowing the exact delay on cripple, or burst for that matter, hard to stay. But at some point with a fast enough carbine cripple would overtake burst (except for the ham costs). This also depends on when the game imposes the speed cap of 1 second. Basically, when we get more speed, we will find out

I use cribbling maily in pvp. Bust in PVE

In pvp KD and a cribbling is often a killing combo. 1 or 2 scatter shots and he is surely dead.

In pve KD and burst is the way to go.

Crippling shot... Why should it hit action only you ask?

See the name? CRIPPLING shot. Sounds like a legs/action attack to me. Otherwise it wouldn't be crippling would it?

In PvP, I use a DH17 carbine with 123-309 damage (148-409 with max and min damage powerup) and I often will hit unarmored knocked down targets for over 1000 damage with crippling shot, whereas with burst or fullauto it goes up to maybe 600...I would rather kill someone in one shot than have to spend the extra HAMof maybe not attacking the same pool consistantly and hitting each pool once or something unncessary like that.

You guys need to quit using HAM costs as an argument for one special or the other. It's pretty much common knowledge that our HAM costs are borked across the board, and as a result most carbineers have a workaround as a necessity/

My point? If you aren't a medic or using Tatooine Sunburn on REGULAR occasion, you have ALOT more to worry about that cripple vs burst.

That being said, I'll also agree with SOJ. Assuming you are at the speed cap (which, per a previous post, isn't all that hard to do at present), cripple provides better dmg.

I think, in the final analysis, do what you want.

In not being a BH hybrid with carbineer, I notice that cripple is way too slow for me to be happy with it. For PVP, I do plenty of damage with scatter or burst, so thats fine for me to use. If cripple is effective for you because you have the xtra carbine speed from BH, thats best for you.

I also try to use different moves because being a one trick pony makes you predictable.

My EE3's base speedwith the wrong slice is 1.9 with +85 in speed mods I shoot at about 1 cripple per second. I useually hit from 300 to 600, and have been known to get consecutive hits for 600 on health. If I'm buffed PvE I annihilate just about anything, and the same goes for PvP.
