But, i assume that the Lv. 54 requirement will stay, which means that by all means we can expect it to be at least an acceptable weapon. (If craftable... even better.) And even ignoring that, despite the unlogical folding stock, it's a beautiful weapon.
I wouldn't say that. The proton carbine is a level 54 weapon and although seemed good initially, its proven to be a mediocre weapon in all categories. I have a feeling that its not going to beat out a power-cell enhanced e11 unless its kinetic damage.

I dunno about you, but I don't use almost good but not quite there weapons just for the heck of it. This game should be targetting veterens who should already have nearly maxed out weapons so it needs to bring something new to the table. Maybe a really high elemental, say like 300-400 points but a much lower base damage so the total comes out to like 500-850 damage or a 300-700 damage kinetic carbine with 100 accuracy and 65 sac or something like that.

Let me re-re-re-emphasize the point here. THATS NOT THE REAL STATS OF THE GUN. ALL CARBINES LEVEL 54 OFF THE BLUE FROGS WILL HAVE THAT STAT. For all we know it can be crafted or looted or given as a quest reward or not even implemented yet and was just in the frog so devs could read threads like this and laugh sadistically.
I was commenting on the appearance and the fact that it has been implemented into the game with this coming expansion. i know it may/may not be the final stats on the gun so be kind no need to SHOUT hehe.

Why not? This new carbine looks cool, and it's something fun to use, yes, for the heck of it. Doesn't it get boring always using the most OMG UBER 1337 gun you have? I personally enjoy using some of my less than perfect guns when in a group hunting situation, for example, where it doesn't matter if you're putting out 100% of your best DPS. Not every new gun has to be the best gun for a PvP situation.
Sweet carbine....if the one in the new expasion is anything like that I might just have to shell out the $100 Canadian or whatever the h*ll it is for it.

And that stats from last week were around 230 base DPS, not over 300 it is now LOL
