BH carbine with Carbineer is night and day difference between Carbineer alone. Not even including the BH specials, the speed and accuracy are such huge improvements. The increased accuracy lets you hit defense templates better. However, its the speed that is the big improvement. Fast speed does 2 things. first you fire fast and that alone increases your damage. Second, it allows for strict usage of damage-sliced weapons. When you power up a damage sliced weapon, you are, in essence, compounding interest.


The difference between a Master Carbineer using a 2.5 speed 54-275 laser carbine (fires crippleshot every 2.5 seconds)and a BH/Carbineer with +100 speed so that they fire at the 1.0 speed cap using a 3.6 reload 75-450 is just astonishing. You are talking about 493 dps for the Master Carbineer and 1968 dps for the Master Carbineer with 0300 BH. That's 4x damage....


I have been a Carbineer/BH and this post has me wanting to go back. I worked so hard to collect all the Combat Medic resources I currently have. Must resist urge...

BH carbine speed is a problem, the lack of dizzy IMO was minor but it is excellent the proffession is getting the attention it deserves. They should totally nerf the BH trees, BH dont have to experts with 3 types of weapons. I think BH should have been an elite proffession after marksman and not have scout involved and just be tracking and BH abilities, maybe some cool specials for their choosen weapons, just to leave room for the BH to specialize in what ever weapons they choose. i think it would have made it so much easier and remove the need to dabble. But what is done is done, maybe removing all stacking bonuses from classes would be ok. Not just capping defence bonuses.

Hi, im a new novice Carbineer and im having fun with it. I heard that in the next patch they will nerf stacking skill mods with other professions. So does that mean Carbineer/BH and Carbineer/Swordsman are not going to work at all? I was wondering what is the best profession to stack Carbineer with.

Stacking will be allowed, there will just be a hard cap on the mods. Where that will be is anybody's guess but they are nerfing the uber defense templates to "bring balance to the Force"



For PvE there is nothing better than CH until that gets another nerf, which IMO is needed.


For PvP there isn't much better than CM paired with anything, but that is up for the next nerf bat.



Remember WAAAAAY back when the Devs stated the premise for this game was grouping/community and balance of professions, so they will constantly be "bringing balance to the Force"

Just so it doesn't get misinterpreted here's the quote from the Publish 7 stuff.


  • Defensive Modifiers will have a hard cap with profession template stacking. Defense stacking will no longer stack beyond the intended combat calculation limits causing the defender to be nigh invulnerable.

  • This implies that they are leaving Offensive stacking in.


    what we don't know, is if the sub modifiers are going to continue to stack, (i.e. Defense Vs. KD, Defense vs. Posture Change (Down)) and the like.. maybe Nova could ask if that's part of the plan?
