Yes.


Just try Pistoler out and you’ll quickly find out just how broken Carbineer is. And that’s just not a rant. I decided to try Pistoler out. Pistol special moves not only do more damage than Carbine moves, they use less HAM. I really don’t see why it’s so hard for them to fix legshot so that is does as much damage as bodyshot.

Yes, its broken. Then again the game is broken.



1. Crowd Control skill is needed. Knockdown and posture has been taken away from us as a CC skill. A root would be acceptable as CC.


2. Hams way too high.


3. EliteNEEDS to be made Medium penetration. EE3 needs to be at least light. Would love to see Dxr6 meduim.


4. Fix all the broken skills.And give some new skills for Mastering the class.

the knockdown nerf broke carbines, and now anyone using a carbine, especially a carbineer is useless.


So yeah, carbineers suck.

I say yes...


they KILLED knockdown(I am also BH) I fire kded someone literally 20 times (buffs and armor on both) and I failed or missed every knockdown...when I finally knocked him down he was back up by the time I got the next shot off...how muh sense does that make?


they KILLED our accuracy with the latest patch....what I dont understand was why carbine accuracy needed to be nerfed...


my hams KILL me...even with an exceptionally great carbine (108-289 2.3 22 24 13) I still take about 80 per crippling shot(which is a great move btw)


and more than half of our skills are broken...(couldnt think of any way to say it with kill in it=P)


Carbineer sounds pretty broken to me...

yes, carbineer is broken. I dont think it's our HAM costs thats killing us. Might be that when we're supposed to be counter-attacking, we actually take double dmg. never had this problem until I started up the counter-attack skill tree. kinda funny how that worked out. But then again, I could be wrong and I do agree that our HAM costs need to be lowerd.

Broken? Yes.


But I have one thing to say, carbineer is NOT broken if you are a master squadleader or a CH. Being able to have others engage a large group of mobs or other players and then just sitting back and opening fire with action shot 2 and full auto area 1 or 2 is wonderful...so long as you have medics to heal you...and none of the mobs/players notice you are plunking them...then yes carbineer can be a very effictive class. I actually believe that this is how carbineer is meant to be played...not as a solo fighter but as a squad fighter...in the army we would not be the grunts (save that for the bloody pistoleers), or the guy who sits on a hill far away frombattle picking off people with his rifle, we are the guys operating the 60 cal or the machine gun...we are there to inflict massive damage to many targets, or to keep the enemy from advancing (suppression fire 2, action shot 2, or charge shot 2)....thats why i don't thinkour "elite" gun should be the elite carbine....i think it should be the light repeating carbine/blaster(think jedi knight 2).


So you might ask how then is carbineer broken if it works so well??


Well suppression fire, action shot2and charge shot 2 are now WORTHLESS. Until the 30sec counter is removed from the game (or at the very least from posture change attacks) our class cannot function in its duties as a squad fire support role.

I would have to say YES.



Among other little things the one that sticks in my mind the most is the fact that Carbines above Laser Carbine should be higher damage, higher wound percentage, and lower HAM cost and they are not.


Yea the EE3 is heat damage and that's good because god only knows what else i'd use against the killer Krills but to me if your going to call something "Elite Carbine" it should be drasticly better than a gun 3 levels below it and most of the so called "Elite" carbines I see have about the same stats or worse than my Laser Carbine.

I believe that this profession, carbineer, is not working as it should.Besides the obivous (elite carbine, accuracy, speed, ham costs, ...)


Charge shot never seems to work, the only time it worked was on Dathomir and I used it on a rancor (note however this is one out of the 50+ attempts over the past few weeks) and when it does work, the knockdown doesnt last long and a second after you knock it down before you are able to refire with anythingyou will visit"the great re-roll in the sky"(unless you are in a large group, or you are a creature handler)


Full auto area, for me it rarely hits more than one target(if it hits at all)


Scattershot, I dont know, is it supposed to give equal damage to all the pools or mainly hit one pool and give minor damage to the rest?


I havent gotten any third tier skills, so I cant say anything about the other skills.


These are just my experiences anyway.

No. Only problem I have is the HAM cost and few specials not acting like they should, but otherwise, No.
