Carbineer Archive
Thread: Seeking your infinite wisdom.....
so that means chargeshot knocks other players down for 5 seconds? or are you talking non-carbineer skills like those from the bh line?
Just to clarify what SOJ said about confusion shot and fireknockdown. Both of these skills do in fact work in that they apply dizzy to the target. HOWEVER, dizzy works in PvP but has zero effect in PvE on animals or humanoids. It also doen't stick for very long. For example, knockdowns are supposed to last 5 seconds. If I fireknockdown a creature in PvE, that creature will get up after 1-2 seconds and at the same time the Dizzy will drop
Fireknockdown is from the BH carbine line. I used it as an example because it does dizzy and knockdown. It's the only dizzy special I have that applies dizzy - the other ones don't work.
This is actually one of my biggest frustrations with this game. The Devs are running around trying to balance the classes against each other when half the game isn't even working. This is a great example. Dizzy. Works in PvP, not in PvE. So, if they fix a skill that is supposed to have dizzy so that it adds dizzy, have they done anything? Yes...and no. Another example is them adjusting knockdowns w/o insuring that the resists against knockdown work first.
I have been playing this game for months now and I still don't know what some of the state effects are supposed to be doing aside from blindness and dizzy. If they are doing something it certainly isn't a big enough effect to make it obvious. wildshot1 and 2 are great examples of this. The Devs were very proud of themselves when they got wildshot and it's stun effect working. Great...now what does stun do?
I am actually taking a new tactics to ensure my enjoyment of the game. I am switching classes around every 2 weeks so that the bugs don't get to me. I am temporarily dropping my carbineer (900k carbine exp saved up to jump right back in) skills to try out the BH lightning cannon. Once the fact that the accuracy mods don't work on that tree get me mad, I'll try something else.
