Thread: Almost there: PvP encounter against a Master BH

You guys aren't lame just because you lose to a jedi every now and then. Jedi are supposed to be Uber, don't forget that when you take them on.
First let me address this line. BHs never complain about losing to a Jedi because unless they log during a battle or are a 4444 Guardian we don't lose. Jedi are a bigger joke than BHs right now. Zero defense. Bad healing ability. Melee range attacks. Kinetic damage. Plus BH gets first strike. So its Spray Shot + KD and its basically over from there on out.
I wish a BH could explain to me why you guys suck. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but on paper your profession looks pretty awesome. All you gotta dois get a tangle pistol/geo sonic blaster and you can rip up peoples mind pool.
What paper are you looking at? Have you looked at the defensive mods for a MBH? 24 ranged defense. 7 melee defense. 33 SPs left over after mastering. We are like the side of a barn in PvP. In order to get any defense we have to drop medic and go 3-4 in either pistoleer or carbineer. So we can't heal ourselves.
BTW, we can't use Geo Sonic Blasters that cert comes at Pistoleer Tech II. Which, if you're a MBH+Carbineer is well out of your reach. Tangle pistols are about half the damage as a GSB, but, still effective. If your traget is not waring stun armor. If that's the case then a GSB or Tangle pistol are like pee-peeing in the wind.
Trust me, it's happened to me more than once. You guys, unlike a lot of ranged professions, have KD + Dizzy. You can burn people, you have two bleeds, and as previously mentioned you can target the mind pool. I know you guys don't have any defenses, but neither do Master Commandos and all they got is the burn. I'm just trying to point out that a lot of the other professions, Pistoleer and Carbineer for instance, don't have the offensive capabilities that you guys have, that's why they have defenses like Dodge and Counterattack. Honestly, I'm tired of BH's complaining about how much they suck, you should try being a Pistoleer or Carbineer where all of your attacks can be healed in one shot. Everyone loses to riflemen/tka combos, not just you guys, so that doesn't mean you suck.
What offensive capiblities? Our best attack is spray shot. Which is an awesome attack, I admit. But, its basically the same as crippling shot; but, with three states (dizzy, stun, blind). And you have to spend 217 SPs to get that attack. Torso shot is the same as Health Shot 2, except with a burn instead of a bleed. Eyeshot can be totally negated in PvP with good armor, brandy and canape. Our KD+Dizzies do not stick against any combat templates because of their defenses and food.
And the difference between us and Master Commandos is that a Master Commando can still master any of the other combat profession after mastering their professions for their defenses. And if they choose to master Rifleman, Carbineer, Pistoleer or TKM they can keep novice Medic as well. We do not have such a luxary.
We do not have the luxary of the other combat professions to dabble and master two other combat professions. MBH is it for us and maybe a little carbineer or pistoleer. But, 8 boxes (including novice) in one professiondoesn't help all that much.
Not to say carbineer is a walk in the park. What happened is that the melee classes (except pikemen) and riflemen were pretty gimped and SOE tried to bring them up a little. Well they brought them up too much. SOE needs to bring those profession back down in line with what carbineer and pistoleer is now (after they fix both class' specials). Then BHs need to be given some defenses that are in line with the other combat professions' defensive mods.
And this is not to say that a MBH can't excel at PvP. But, it does make it hard. You really have to plan your strategies and know your foods and armor and weapons. Which is part of the reason why I like the profession. There is no "I win" button with MBH. But, you hit it on the head when you said, "everyone has a hard time with TKM/Rifleman". Why should that be the case? Why does one template dominate *so much* more than any other?
