Thread: My new Carbine, and I am not sure how to slice it....

Consider the powerup you'd like to use. I like the +damage -speed ones. Power it up and see how the speed looks then. You may still want a speed slice.
I would go this route as I don't believe Critical Slice is worth a darn. Slicing a really fast weapon for Speed just makes it easier to use +Damage PU's instead of SAC PU's.
Although my Carbine is running at SAC=68 after PU and I need lower.....so hard to imagine ANY Carbineer not using SAC PU's ![]()

I agree here. A full damage powerup on my server will run +34.47% Damage Mod/-7.95% Speed Mod. A full speed slice is 12%. You can get the full speed slice at 12% then drop a high output damage powerups on with little to no impact on speed of the weapon.
In this way you basically allowed yourself a 34% damage slice on a damage capped weapon....because your able to up the damage without impacting the speed of the weapon.
The other alternative if you decide to go critical slice is to use a balance damage powerups. I make a +25% damage pup with only a 1% hit to speed...which is like -0.02 on most weapons....so not noticable. This will keep your speed pumped up....although if it's too fast I do see the SAC as an issue. I would rather slow my carbine down with a high damage pup as a way of managing my SAC.
