Don't show that thing to Nova, he'll just tell you to shoot lairs with it.
Seriously, VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY sweet toy. Me personally, I'd remove the power up and just use default attacks for PvE, you'll still be hammering out around 800 points of damage at the high end.

Power-ups cause weapons to decay faster. Slice + Powerup = almost twice the decay rate if things haven't changed since I last looked it up.
It is my understanding that power ups only increase weapon decay indirectly. Decay is based on some percentage of damage done, so slicing or powering up your weapon will cause it to decay faster, not some sort of code that doubles the decay rate while a weapon is powered up.
As for the DH17, use it to kill some jedi, they don't have armor. ![]()

I agree. We have been told (if you choose to believe SOE...) that weapon decay, like armor decay, is based on damage done. So it is just common sense that a sliced and powerup'd weapon, doing twice as much damage will decay twice as fast. No special code IMO, just common sense.

I dont know if I believe that. I have sliced weapons that do A lot more damage than the laser carbine I use to grind out to master. I would stick a power up on most of the time a speed one and the ccarbine would be dead after two lairs.
I don't have that porblem with just damage sliced carbines.

ive never had a carbine crap out quickly and i always use powerups and always slice them. Also i keep a close eye on condition and repair them frequently to keep the max up. The only carbine i had that used to die quickly is my Nym's slug and i dont know why that is.

Wow, nice carbine.
I would hold off on the power ups as well to prolong the life of that gun, unless you absolutly need to, to win.
