Thread: Why do pistols do more dmg than carbines???
Ok, i found this pic of a scatter pistol (yes its krayt, sliced, and powered up) and am wondering if we have any chance to top this.
*note- look at the speed too, it sure as hell isnt as high as ours

You could probably come CLOSE to that max with a kryat laser carbine, but it wouldnt have the high of min, nor would it be anywhere close to .8 speed.
You'd probably need to make a laser carbine with best resources + good kryat tissue + really good damage slice , in which case the speed would be like 3.5 or up.
.8 speed is kind of dumb anyways, speed cap is 1.0.
Nah, pistols are the full automatic machine guns in this game
Rifles, for a master, are the same...
Carbine is.... well... I'm not quite sure, but I think it's closest to a board.. with a nail in it.
For the record, that's the BH pistol. Not that it should matter -- carbines are supposed to be slower (and for you "but we're the automatic weapons in this game" people, that means that our burst of fire is slower than the pistoleer's single shot) for more damage (again, because ours is a burst).
Too bad Krayt tissue screws us over by giving the same upgrade to each type of weapon -- which means it's a much larger percentage increase for pistols.
that's scatter is nice drooolll beats my 421 max damage scatter
Come close to my 508 krayt laser carbine.
Yes you do have a chance to top this and this is what you need. 4 identical high dmg bonus krayt tissues, and however many nym feed mechanism a laser carbine requires. I used 4 - 75 krayt tissues, then i got a 25% damage slice, and with a min/max power up it's 508. If you were lucky enough to get 100+ tissues, 30% damage slice, or your weaponsmith just has uber quality resources you can beat that scatter.

Really? I always thought it was more like throwing a rock. Kinda like ewoks
Sumanikaeda:
Come on, be realistic... a board with a nail in it is the Fencer Elite weapon. At master they can make it rusty and give tetanus.
Seriously... I have a friend who is a fencer... "Oops!"... and his two best weapons are the Rantok---- which can't be player made!(and therefore sucks as a Jabba reward)and the stun baton, which most smiths won't make because they suck too badly.....
Wow.
You guys do get the shaft though.
Just like us commandos, though I'm sure that will get me flamed. *pun*

Other side of the coin: we take hits like schoolgirls from melee and have no states, nor can we target a HAM. In PvP our flame special misses most of the time, and only works in 16m. Go swim if you get torched, sorry if you're on Tatt.
Carbineers get four trees devoted to the carbine, a weapon which WORKS, even if it isn't as good as a pistol. And like I said, I think you guys get shafted in that respect. However, commandos get one tree devoted to FT, a weapon that works but somehow curses us with becoming little frightened girls when a melee'er comes near. If a master Carbineer can't kill a master commando most of the time in combat, then he needs to stay out of 16m and use specials.
Honestly, Carbineers are better than commandos, cuz we're one-trick ponies. Wow, what a trick, but its not enough to make our class viable. Thats all I'm saying. We're good at smashing the glass jaw, but we get owned by anything with staying power, or the ability to stay out of 16m range(midlevel mobs, buffed PvP'ers... the like)
And based on skill points spent v. result, commandos should be able to take down a carbineer... one who has spent exactly 92 skill points that is. The game should be about skill point balance. Not saying a Carbineer shouldn't hold his own against a pistoleer, and a carbineer who takes all of BH carbine should smack a MCommando. Skill points.
