Thread: So I was watching Star Wars and...

So i was watching Star Wars the other day... not Return of the Jedi, not Attack of the Clones: Star Wars


the first one


The Correllian corvette has been taken by Vader and his white-clad boarding party. Leia barely has enough time to devise a plan to reach Obi-wanwith Stormtroopers searching the ship for her. Finally two catch up to her and do they blast her away with their e11 carbines? No, they set their weapons to stun. STUN! the only time in any of the5 movies that the word is even mentioned in context to a military item. Do the geonosians say anything about 'taking out their stun pistols'? Nope. Do the jawas'stun' R2-D2? No,they short him out. Now i'm not a physics major or anything, but the last time i saw machinery shorted out the way R2-D2 did was due to a massive amount of electricity, not somebody thwaping it with a blackjack.


Ok, none of that's the point, the point is suddenly i had an idea for our master attack: the thing that sets carbs apart from all the other combat proffessions is our secondary abilities BESIDES damage. Why not have some kind of staggering shot that does comparitively little damage but PILES ON the status effects? An AOE that might hit for 300 damage but has a good chance of landing stun, blind,intimidate, dizzy, the works! Hell, we could even call it Spray-n-pray, for all you FPSers out there (myself included) But this would secure ourniche as a combat class that doesn't just kill, but has the ability to incapacitate our opponents.

Corny and over-the-top, i'll admit yes. But cool....?



PS: wow... and just think in Empire Strikes Back a Star Destroyer get stunned! Or are we going to assume that a jawa ion rifle and an ion defensive turret fire deferent types of ion energy?

In my mind, thats what the role of carbineers should be. I think we should get a master level special called FullAutoArea 3 which applies stun, blind, and dizzy in a cone, but its very consistant, like Sprayshot from MBH. Maybe not as powerful in terms of physical damage, but it would make Carbineer worth mastering.

heres an idea how about a special called all your mind are belong to us this shot would have no delay target the mind apply a bleed and have a damage mod of hmmmm lets say 15 makes up for the class being gimped since release

The removal of CH and the NGE in general is the dumbest thing a company has ever done. period.

Ranged Intimidate would be cool. I think it would fit more with the Chargeshot animation, dont you think? I scare myself watching me charge like that.

i could use a retreat shot as well... nothing funnier than chargeshooting circles around an enraged rancor...

I agree with everything that is being said here. It would be nice to have something like that. I just hope they do add a master skill box special we could make use of which might help with some of the revamping they are doing. Being that I have been a Carbineer since just a few day's after launch and have never dropped it since. It would be nice to have a change like that head our way. Don't get me wrong though, I loved our fixes we got in publish 7. Yet they might as well give us some love while they are revamping the whole system.

Anyone have a problem if there was a 'special special'. I.e. you do a little quest and then when using an E11 you're able to do a 0 damage shot that has a 99% chance to stun+dizzy+kd a target.


Would that be fun?
