Actually, now that I am thinking of high end content, wouldn't it be great if you could personalize a weapon as high end content? What I mean is you take an existing carbine (so the crafters still have a market), use it at least once per time you log in for a month, then bring it to some NPC (doing a few quests along the way) to get it personalized to you. It might get a special label, and you get 5% speed and 10% damage boost (for example) to represent it being your prefered gun, and maybe an extra 500 max condition (to represent the extra care you give it), and be untradable (since it is *your* gun).
You might only get one such gun at a time. The trick would be to make it non-grindable (hence the one month timer, rather than "kill 1500 enemies")...The ideaneeds work, but I think it would be a good idea. ![]()

Oh, wow. I like that. It has no "real" effect on anything so won't break anything, but very much has a "that's REALLY cool" factor (above and beyond the unsorted badges list). And I can imagine people running a set of interesting quests, possibly like the Nym'sSlugthrower one ("retrieve paint", "get special tool", "find and rescue thepainter", etc.) Again though, it shouldn't be grindable as it stands now, as then it will become a chore to do rather than something neat you can do.
Off-hand I think a "you need to use the gun for a month to really become really attached to it" kind of thing prevents excessive grinding (if you can only do one at a time), and makes the guns more special. There are drawbacks to this mind you (after a month your gun will be at 100/150 condition)... ![]()
It would be great to have a green DXR carbine though, to match the green acid bolts it fires, and possibly green armor too. ![]()
It might be a de facto nerf on the Firehawk though, in that it's not the only red carbine then. ![]()

Point blank after publish 10 hologrinding will be dead. That's what these publishes are about. Publish 9 introduces FS quests and publish 10 kills hologrinding. Hologrinding will kill this game more than anything if it's not dealt with.
If that doesn't make you happy then nothing will.

Every Carbineer you see will be someone who actually wants to be one.
You may actually get healed in the med center again. It's been so long since that's happened for me I honestly can't remember the last time I actually got healing in the med center and I'm being serious.
You may actually visit a cantina again and not be bombarded with 50,000 lag inducing AFK "action heal plz" dancers.
