Scatter hits3 times, selectly poolsrandomly. Crippling hits all of its damage to one pool.
Just wondering why no one ever recomends scattershot2, when it hits the mind pool more consistantly than cripplingshot.
Scatter uses the same health/action/mind rolls that all other specials use. Since you have 3 "rolls", you might hit more often BUT the damage will only be 1/3rd of normal which after all the armor can be almost minimal. Over time, statistically, all the shots are going to hit and do the same damage to the mind pool. Thus, in the end, it is best to use the special that gives the most bang for the buck which for most is fullautosingle2 which also adds the possibility of states.
The breakdown is 55/35/10.
There really should be no long term difference between cripple and scatter.
However, Tyrst brings up a good point. The scatter rolls are each seperate so that you get 3 chances to hit. Against defense stackers this is good because you are likely to hit atleast once in those 3 tries. It might be low damage, but a hit is better than a miss.

FSA2 has a lower damage modifer, so for my purpose the comparasion was just between Crippling and Scattershot.
Say scattershot hits H/A/M every shot. And Crippling hits H, A, then M.
When focusing only on the mind pool, scatter hits for 1 damage, every second. Crippling hits for 3 damage, every 3 seconds.
Why is cripplingshot always regarded as the most damaging attack.
Btw, whats the ratio of the hit roll? 40/40/20? 33/33/33?

I heard the chance to hit a pool is 3/2/1 HAM but I guess the 55/35/10 is pretty close ![]()
If ScatterShot1/2 works as 3 independent shots thus increasing the chance to hit, well that is a bug IMO. First the shot should hit or miss, then if it hits a roll is done for which pools it hits. But I never claimed to understand SOE ![]()

I am at the speed cap with crippling/scatter.
Well good for you, but we talk about CARBINEER'S here and you are a hybrid and the reason why such statements are made.....
until you hit the speed cap

Lets see. Who created this post? Oh that would be me. And for your information, +25 Carbine Speed Attachments and a 2.6 Speed Elite Carbine hit the speed cap with both crippling and scattershot. Now, next time spend a little less time with your pretty little yellow font and a little more time actually knowing what you are talking about. Thanks.
