Thread: More numbers...Carbine Speed compared

For all the number junkies out there, I ran some calcs on Carbine Speed from +35 to +85. So now we can see the relative gains for spending all that time/money on SEA's......or BH....

I used FAS2 because I am leveling my alt now in Carbineer and wanted to see how well my +24 Carbine Speed setup would help....

FAS2 has a 1.7 delay so I just calculated the Weapon Speed to cap it: {100 / (100 - Player Speed)} / 1.7

+35 = 0.90

+45 = 1.07

+50 = 1.17

+60 = 1.47

+65 = 1.68

+70 = 1.96 33%

+75 = 2.35 39%

+80 = 2.94 51%

+85 = 3.92 66%

Now each % I list is the INCREASE of the current +5 vs. the previous +5. Basically a relative difference for the same +5 Carbine Speed SEA at different level in your quest to cap the SEA at +25. For example, moving from +65 to +70 is 33% more of an increase than moving from +60 to +65.

This may not interest anybody, but I thought it showed the non-linear relationship of the SPEED FORMULA, good or bad. A basic concept to draw from this is looking at the Weapon Speed to cap and how quickly it increases at +75 and beyond.....so don't waste your time getting a +1 or +2 Carbine Speed SEA if you are at +60

Actually, this is quite helpful. I did splurge on an array of +1's and +2s to get a +10 cumulative effect and last night I received a .9 speed 115-257 damageEnhanced E11 Carbine. I'm maybe .1 or .2 seconds shy of capping Crippling Shot and this could help me help my guild's weaponsmith in his quest for the Carbineer's Holy Grail. A carbine with sufficient speed to cap CripplingShot with no SEAs or Power ups.

Speed tapes are totally worth it. Even more worth it IMO is buying big ones. I have a +10, +7 and a +6 which moves me up to +83 speed. Those tapes cost me a fortune (the +10 was 5 million) but by focusing on 3 big tapes I have them in my ubese bandolier, ubese shirt and mabari belt. None of those items decay so my investment is secure and will last me a long time. Each of those items has 4 sockets. Now that speed is taken care of, I am planning to add an accuracy, counterattack and accuracy while moving tapes to those items.

It takes TONS of cash, but you can turn your carbineer into a speed freak if you put your mind to it

Once your speed fetish is maxed, then go for Accuracy while moving. With our defenses borked, the BEST thing you can do after maxing your speed is to stay mobile and harder to hit while maximizing your chance to hit on the run. Speed is life, mobility is quality of life. Our base 130 Accuracy without Master Marksman gets the job done for most of our combat needs, its the run and gun game that will keep you out of the loving arms of a melee monster.

While going off on the tangent of SEA's, I have:

+24 Carbine Speed

+25 Carbine Accuracy while Moving

+19 Counterattack......1 away from +125 total cap

+3 Carbine Accuracy......bidding on +15 AA right now

I also have some State defenses and Melee tapes......Ranged defense is in my two rings

BTW, Carbine Aiming appears to be a total waste unless you use the /aim command and even then I haven't seen proof that is helps.....

Yes, it costs a fortune but I get very near the BH/Carbineer template without any Skill Points in BH

shirt: +8accuracy/+7accWhileMov/+8spd/+8counterattack

belt: +5accuracy/+5accWhileMov/+5spd/+8counterattack

bandolier: +12accuracy/+11accWhileMov/+10spd/+10counterattack (cost me 2.5mil & alot of favors to get this together)

so at +25/+23/+23/+26...i just use my +3spd/+4awm/+10ranged defense 90% comp gloves for armor...and link steel gloves for clothing.

the speed is nice...hitting damn near everything w/ adv.scoped carbines is nice...but i think my fav part is being +125/+150 effective mod on counterattack...no, it's not the +215 stacking could do before the cap, but contrary to other people's stance on counterattack, i think it works famously.

er...another thing i've been noticing lately...if they revamp professions decently & get players & the speed equation slow enough to make speed SEA's really worth it...alot of us carbineers will be sitting on +25 while riflemen are sporting +8.

it's a good thing to be like this...if everyone's brought down to our level, in comparison we'll be a big step ahead of the game.
