Thread: carbine prob #1 landing states!!
Hm, I didn't know what to make of that either.. I was under the impression they didn't cap at all, or if so, at 125.

The do NOT cap at any number.
State Defenses are not on the list of hard caps at +125.

Phew, back to PvP.
Through I think we get the bad effectiveness of the pikemen.
Those who are going to bring up pike dots. That is another issue.

Yup - Pikeman has always been considered the "melee" version of Carbineers - they are our gimped brothers and sisters, heh.
Except that I can't get over the DoT stuff.. any good Pikeman will sport DoTs.. that's all they have to work with.. and quite frankly, its more than enough.
Several of my guildmates were Pikemen at some point, and the kind of equipment they have is just sickening.. from 500 tick Mind fires and poisons to 400 Health and Action ones with infinite uses.. and let's not forget their 1000+ damage LVAs.
It's a shame that Nightsisters generally drop more polearm-based DoTs than anything else. At times I wish the Developers made Carbineers the exact ranged-equivalent of Pikeman - I wouldn't mind using several DoT Carbines if that's what our profession boiled down to for damage.

I have a Action poison Laser carbine with 227 str. and 67%POT
Also have a Action fire Snub nose only 112 str. and 45% POT
Both where looted on the corvette so they are out there just got to find them, I found some good drops on the corvette for ranged professions. I take groups up to just kill the dudes up there and make runz at the loot lockers.
