Hello fellow slicers and dicers!
I got owned for the first time last night... I went overt to pull my AT-ST and run some Mokk missions on Dantooine for some quick cash and when my buffs were about gone I decided to go back to the Outpost and go covert again. When I got to the Outpost there were a few Rebs running around killing everything in sight.
The guy who wrecked me was named "Flute", from what I could tell he was a Defense stacked TKM DoT whore... not that it's a bad thing! I got hit with a Fire DoT, Dizzied and dropped... honestly I don't even think I landed a single headhit, it was over before I even knew I was being attacked.
Until last night I really had no idea why everyone was crying about wanting a CURB; since I have never PvP'd it really never applied to me I suppose... anyway I guess that after that "experience" I understand why so many feel that the CURB is a good thing.
I have been playing SWG since the first week it came out and I guess I am still a Noob! Does this mean that my cherry has been popped??? LOL
Take it slow.

You were outnumbered against people who has PVP experience, even after theCURB you will get your behind handed to you in a situation like that.
Hopefully the CURB will make it a more even matchand someone who doesn't pvp regularly can still make himself useful, but don't expect to be able to kill someone who does put in some real effort into pvp unless you do so yourself.

Evening out the differences between pvpers and non pvpers = More PVP =Good
Removing the differences completely =Less end game = Bad

I wouldn't mind doing a little PvP, but it is not my reason for playing SWG. I am actually hoping that the CURB will allow a person to be overt and still be a non-combatant... I have heard that they are changing the way that TEF's work.
To me it seems that PvP should be held in Cities or Battlefields, or have the ability to be toggled on and off...if I want to PvE against high-end Rebellion aligned NPCs with my AT-ST I don't feel that I should be forced to participate in PvP with a guy, or guys, that all have30 million+ credits worth of DoT weapons, SEAs, foodsand equipment when they catch me doing it.
I only have a few hours a week to play SWG, I shouldn't have to spend it in the Clone Center.
Just my two credits worth... I understand that SOE wants players to participate in the GCW, but isn't that what Jedi are all about??

Im doc/swords/speed/accuracy capped and the only thing that gives me trouble in pvp are people who kite and other swordsmen/docs...never had a problem with melee stackers or dot whores

To day at the tusken fort I was killing every thing in sight no-matter what and some guys got pissed off and they chalanged me to a dule (i duled one at a time mind you ).
the first guy was a TKM and all i had to do was confusion shot and fire KD and then fallow with scatter shot so i can hit the mind pool and he was out in 2 min or less
the second guy was a little harder cus his friends were healing him but i did the same thing as the first guy and he took himself out with all the mind damage that TKM takes
I used my laser carb with 3.9 speed and 379 max damage and took lithorian mist and
WON

Congrats
It is great to take down those l33t melee folks that think they can't be touched.....but we just use TACTICS and our MIND to win
Know your opponent, your strengths, and your weaknesses and we can win as Carbineer/XX and Carbineer/BH against all but the toughest in PvP.

Good stuff.
ScatterShot2 is indeed powerful when it comes to slowly picking at the Mind Pool. It's not perfect, but it does the job!

they blind me with their pretty colors everytime....
what we need is some pink laser bolts! I think they'll drop their saber a second to see a pink laser bolt...
