So I take up carbines get some descent guns and go out and kill stuff..yet 75% of the time my specials are infective!!!In friendly duels with friends i am ALWAYS pwnd..my specials are recivied by a Miss, blocked, dodge, counterattacked..could it be that because I surrendered the Range support tree under marksman that it is the cause of my suckyness?

Dun really know man I don't find it too bad. I am usin a Nyms Slug Thrower and I have master marksman so maybe its helpin a bit but seems to be going pretty fast I am 4244 now and prolly will be master tobnight woot. It is nutz to see that the Nyms gun is the best carbine I have seen. Usually player made guns are better than cool guns you get from missions. I started about 4 days ago or so on carbineer. From not even novice to 4244 is pretty fast from what I hear but hey those savage quenkers will get you where you need to be in no time flat. Also you should be grouped at least with a pet, I use a lvl 5 kaadu and just leave him at the outpost that will get you 4k per kill and without group you will only get 3k per kill. Figure 6 per lair and the lair itself is about 25k-30k xp per mission. Wont make you rich but before you know it after you get back to reality you will have a bunch of money too

You miss because you do not have enough accuracy. Go up the marksman tree so that you hit more.

Ranged support won't help you much unless you use the /aim command. Instead do as Nova suggested and go up the marksman tree for the accuracy mods. I had the same feeling when I was leveling carbineer, when I was 2-2-2-2 or something like that I couldn't kill anything, or atleast it felt that way. I can just say that it get's better once you go up the marksman and assault trees.

Carbineer is a tough profession...I wrote up a guide to help all the fellow Carbineers with leveling and fighting.

So you saying I should complete Marksman? I have stored a lot of rifle and combat xps so it shouldn't be much of a problem but that pistol tree..man it was hard the first time..I worked so hard for weeks to get Chargeshot1 and its kinda ok. Was hoping that it would be something I could use against those friends who KD me down all the time.

Grab Burst Shot 1, then like Firehawk said, speed all the way.
After speed, accuracy. Then finish out profession --
