Thread: Specials Update (chargeshot2 info)

With Publish 7 on the TC, I have verified that the specials the Developers have indicated are working. In short, all the fullauto singles and areas now dizzy as intended. Actionshot2 bleeds all targets now, not just one. Burstshot2 is now a cone/AoE and if I might add, a damn nice special.


If you look over my old status of the specials stickied above, you would find that with these fixes, only 2 specials remain broken: chargeshot2 and legshot3. I have had several discussions with the Developer in charge of this as I really wanted to get these last 2 fixed (and so did he) so that the claim 100% working could be made about our specials. The good news here is that the settings on the specials were all set correctly. The bad news is that an unknown bug was preventing either of them from working. He did eventually find the bugs on both those specials, but missed the Q/A deadline for the Publish 7. So, while you might be disappointed that these remaining 2 specials won't be fixed in the next Publish, please get ready for the fact that when Publish 8 goes live EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR SPECIALS WILL BE 100% WORKING!!!

Hmmm this could be my ticket, I've been master pistoleer for a while now and was thinking of going rifleman but this looks a better proffesion to take on i.e. it's getting fixed not nerfed

Yay, thanks for the info, cant wait!
However I hope they fix all the specials for the other professions in publish 8 also ie. pistols, otherwise we will get bombarded by the FOTM brigade.

I would have said so myself but after Publish 6 nova told us the dev just missed the deadline also, regarding our specials and looky here... they're in Publish 7

I think this one is a sure bet. With HAM changes coming in the combat revamp and these changes I might finally find the motivation to go finish Carbineer.

One thing though. Is the standing requirement and the charge animation staying for /chargeShot1? Or is there any hope we can have those things removed down the road?

This is great news, i just hope that this "/chargeshot2 is working" isn't like the "/chargeshot2 is working" But either way with Legshot3 getting fixed hopefully it will start doing some really heavy damage, that would be great.

Btw, i heard there was a TC copy available. If so, what is the command? Does this copy your toon from Live to TC or is it a move?

Ack...I forgot to say what was fixed on legshot3! It is getting a damage boost, itwill have a VERY high chance to stun and is switching to Cone/AoE.



I can appreciate doubting the Devs. However, there is a clear distinction between "we are fixing X" and "X has been fixed and will appear in Publish 8." The game is improving every patch and Carbineer is getting really damn good. Can we drop the persecution complex now?

There is a lot of misinformation floating around about TC. Right now, by character copy, they really mean server copy. They copy all the characters from one server (no money and no houses) onto the TC. Yesterday when I logged on my Bria character was showing so I think Bria is on TC right now.


I know it is not fun to grind up TC all over just to test a special, however, if it helps, I can log on and demo any skill for you. I also will log on and help with training. Right now I am Master Carbineer, Marksman and Scout.

ActionShot2 causes a posture change to all affected in the areaas well as a bleed, right?

What about scattershot1/2? That is only working 99%, with the only problem being 1 damage reported in the combat log.

Wildshot2 needs a different status effect. If legshot3 is an AoE/cone with very high chance to stun, then wildshot1/2 is an vastly inferior version of legshot2/3. To make things look even worse, you get wildshot2 at a level 4 skill whereas legshot3 is a level 1 skill.

Here's a vote to change wildshot1/2 status effect to Intimidate.

hmm. legshot still sounds redundant.

cone effect present in other specials
targetting action, generally of less use than going with the masses and targetting health, or mind (will we ever get a reliable mind hit?)
stun, wildshot2 already area/health/stun. is this just a really high chance ?
