Thread: Holster Suggestion..
Holsters are an awesome idea and I've seen them discussed more in the pistoleer forum. But in my opinion, holsters should be for pistoleers only. I think carbines should not get a holster, but just be able to clip onto your waist. I think a Carbine would look awkward in a case at your side. By the way, here's my opinions for all weapons:
Carbines can hang from the waist.
Pistols can get a holster (maybe one that can be placed on the waist or the thigh)
Rifles can be slung on backs
Swords can have sheaths (with a choice of going on the waist or the back, unless it is something like a knife, which would be rediculous on the back)
Other melee weapons can go onto the back (polearms, axes, etc.)
Virboknucklers could go on the waist
I also think it would be cool if new ways to hold your guns at rest were added. For example, carbineers and riflemen hold their guns diagonally in front of them, with the barrel pointing up. It would be kinda cool if you could make the gun point down, hold the but in your palm with the barrel on your shoulder, etc. This could also be used for melee weapons.

YAY!!!!! i love holsters!!! Carbines should get a strap to swing around the neck that hand down like M16s =D
swords are wither fencer = waiste, swordsman = back.
Everyone running around town with a weapon is lame, like a friend said, so i mostly unequip my carbine untill im on the prowl.
I actually don't think they'd be that difficult to implement--they're just like any other item, and the "holdsered weapon" would just be a few new animations/weapon positions.

Even though I have seen this beaten to death since Beta3 I am dropping my vote here too.
It is a good idea, I even like the one about ST's attacking folks with weapons drawn. They might give you a verbal warning..."Put that weapon away citizen!" then have a short timer before they open fire.
Maybe if we keep talking about what we as players would like in the game we will see this in publish 385 or so

I came to this game from DOAC, a far inferior game graphicly, but at least you could sheath your sword
