Want to become devastating??? Master Marksman, master Carbineer, get Enforcer or master BH tooand a few attachments here and there for even more speed. You'll wow your friends, steal all their xp and devastate the enemy.

I think this profession, smuggler, and pistoleer best represent the Star Wars essence from a role playing perspective. It is obscene to me that a PIKEMAN or TKM at 30 meters can pull a KD / Dizzy on me..... was there a pikeman in a Star Wars film or book?
If you recall in RotJ,you saw men in Jabba's Palace and on his sandbarge carrying Long Vibro Axes. If memory serves me correctly, Lando was sporting one.

I am trying to promote more role playing, and I believe this profession in tandem with BH/Smuggler is the best possible to facilitate it. I just hope the developers keep up with the ambience of the SW universe and make these professions take on their full effect... I mean Han Solo or Grand Moff T.were not a TKs.

Wrong!
First off TKM and Pikeman only have about a 5-10 meter range for all their attacks. Second, You are refering to Lunge 1 and 2, These are Novice and Master Brawler skills. Third, it is a 20 meter KD or Posture change, NOT 30. I am a Master brawler so i should know. The distance is even worse when the target moves away from you.
Also In the background in the movies you see lots of pikeman for example the Red guys (Emperors Guards) in the Death Start 2 were pikeman.

yeah its not a bit farther than 60 feet kd which makes perfect since since i have since dropped master brawler since i decided to do Bh carbines too since my speed was too slow.

The Emporer's Royal Guards were Pikemen too. Though mostly ceremonial.
I know a lot of RP stormtrooper players carry stock E11s when they do their RP patrols to keep in character. We're about as Star Warsy a profession as you can find, shy of Smuggler, Jedi and Bounty Hunter

Yeah, I just got novice carbineer and am loving it. Soemthing incredibly satisfying about firing a round of autoshot2s and inflicting a crapload of stat effects. And yes, this, BH, and smuggelr are the best for feeling like you are playing an actual star wars character. Overall, this is just a fun profession to play as.

I stand duly corrected here... apparently the general population thinks Martial Arts, Pikes, and Swords when they mentally re-live the Star Wars combat sequences. They also think that (whether it's 20, 30, or 10 meters) that a guy with a stick can knock you first dizzy you, then knock you down when you shooting at him full auto with a powerful Laser Carbine.
I hope the developers fix the brawler / TK profession. Going back through the books, the comics, the movies -- the H2H was mainly Jedi as I recollect. Blasters, carbines, and rifles were the order of the day. If you want to go Brawler.. let's see the brawling and not the ranged combat.
