Thread: Does Melee get a damage boost when hitting Ranged?

Ranged players get no toughness or melee mitigation
That's why you take a lot more damage
That's pretty much it. I can hit fora max of600 damage with a 300ish Acklay Stun baton.. with a higher one in the 450 range, it could easily reach the 800s.. and if you use the same acklay bone in a PH, then a swordsman could hit for 1000 damage, easy.
It's not too hard to hit for over a 1000 damage on someone with no mitigation. I do it constantly with a 700 max damage Laser Carbine against melee targets/docs who have no ranged mitigation.

When I'm playing my Jedi and I find someone who is ranged, If I get a Dizzy/KD which is pretty easy, I can dervish 2 for 1.2k damage a second with a 4th Gen.
Now to a melee target with toughness/mitgation, that damage is cut by 2/3 it seems like.

Yep - many of our guilded Jedi get accused of exploiting for this very same fact. It's a shame that people still don't realize that good ol' Riflemen are utterly useless against saber-wielding foes, heh.
The division between Ranged and Melee professions as far as Jedi are concerned is far too large in my mind.. but hey, I have no complaints if I'm on the winning side.
I have also been accused of exploiting. It's only a 501 Max damage saber. I admit that's really good, but I've seen better.

used to but not anymore.
ex: riflemen used to get hit for 2.5x damage if they got cought up in a melee fight.
Change that to present tense. Riflemen still have a "to hit" modifier on them but is cancelled out by their meager defenses. Of course that also means you practically have 0 defenses in the long run which even a master dancer has more. Its been a year since they removed the 2.5 damage modifier which pretty much killed the profession back then.
Its unkewl, unfair, and not a carbineer issue though.
76/76 -11.The saber came out to 3.0 speed with 500-560 or so damage with a 6 force cost. His template is Master LS/Healer 4004/Enhance 4024 or 4204 with 0020 Force powers or which ever line gives you force intimidate.Between him having Force armor 1 and Force intimidate and the amount of damage he can deal with his Saber he is pretty much impossible for a melee stacker to beat.
Also i have never been hit for anything clos to 1000 damage as eather a rifleman/carbineer or pistoleer in my year of playing this game.If anything a speed capped swordsman with the average 300-800 Acklay hammer would hit me for 250-300 damage on average although between all melee professions they get hit the most by eather my 149-646 krayt laser or my 199-477 krayt DRX carbines. The other day i did hit my Swordsman friend for 1101 damage with the laser carbine and these were the numbers flying over his head indeed and i also hit my Light jedi knight friend for 1462 damage with crippling shot.
Never though has a swordsman hit me for 1k damage though.
