Thread: Thinking of dropping BH Carbines

I'm a Master Carbineer andloved the extra speed and accuracy that came with BH carbines, but i realized that I don't spend anytime doing BH related stuff and would love the extra skill points to be allocated differently to make the game funner for me. I'd hate to drop carbines because while I have only played for about 4 months carbine is the only weapon I know, and I refuse to give it up quite yet.

Here are a few things I'm considering:

Master Carb / Master Ranger / Novice Brawler

This would let me enjoy the ground game more when I'm just hunting for rare-loot, I'd need a good amount of Speed and Accuracy AAs, if I wanted to be successful at this. Novice Brawler is just to stand a chance to the state-resistant mobs like Black Suns or Nightsisters.

Master Carb / Ranger xx4x / Creature Handler ???? (not sure what'd be good trees to learn in that) / Novice Brawler

I've heard Ranger xx4x is the only line worth getting in it. I may go this route if that is so. Then I can allocate some skill points in riding cooler animals

Come Combat Revamp I'll probably end up dropping Novice Brawler as I'm assuming using Intimidate and Warcry will no longer be necessary for high-end mobs...well at least solo-ing high end mobs as grouping may become more common. But I don't wantto discuss the CR or CU as it is called in this thread.

Any opinions on if the templates listed here would be funner than BH carbines / Master Carb / Novice Brawler / Pistoleer defenses (my current template)?

Oh, keep in mind i'm not big on ground PvP, as I'll probably spend more PvP time in space than I will on ground. I'm strictly trying to enjoy PvE with this template.

You'll need several speed attachments (even +25 won't cut it to cap your current Carbines), and you'll have to rely on speed slices / speed powerups / stock-less weapons, etc in order to fire your carbines at the speedcap, but it's very doable.

I spent a lot of time as Carbineer / Ranger, and I loved it! You can make a lot of money harvesting resources, as you are a PRIME lair-buster and creature-killer. Our posture down shots (like ActionShot2) freeze creatures in their tracks for several seconds, and our Area attacks (like FullAutoArea2) will plow through most creatures out there.

As far as Ranger goes, you're right, you don't need Master Ranger.. just pick up 0040and you'll get about 95% of the creature harvesting bonuses.. the master box isn't worth the SP at this point, as traps and camps have become obsolete, and a bit of harvesting food and a harvesting droid will help you just as well, if not better.

Heck, you could even only pick up 0030 Ranger (as Player tracking is kinda useless unless you want to find Jedi or specific players?? )

I'd so something like: Master Carbineer, Ranger 0030 or 0040, and you can dump the rest into Medic and Novice Brawler.. using Stims is pretty important as a PvEer.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I seem to be recommending Carbineer/CH in almost every thread these past few days

There are better PvE templates out there, but none that have Carbineer are better than Carbineer/CH/Medic in my book. You need at least 0444 CH and at least 2 uber BE pets to make it work, but it is well worth the leveling and trouble finding pets.

Shouldnt you support this with FACTS and not assumption or opinion?

Not sure what you mean.. CH still remains a top PvE profession out there.. it's like carrying your own Fencer/TK tank.

I mean, regardless of how you look at it.. a Rancor tanking a lair is a rancor tanking a lair.. it's got high resists and won't die if you heal it with Medic Stims.

Essentially, you're just grouped with an uber tank and never take damage, and are free to spam your specials away. Sure, you can become a Swordsman and Scalp Slam the creatures to hell.. but that requires you taking the hits.

I have to agree, I am a MCarb/ BH 0402 / NoviceCH / Medic 4000 andI have a ball in PvE. Admittedly,I have a nasty old BE pet that can be used novice but is probably similar to a lvl50.

Glad to see you keep trolling here....so this validates my previous accusation.....

See highlighted text....seems I was giving my opinion....but whatever you say.....

And where did I quote facts or numbers or what is working or not? Dude, if you want to complain about my posts that is fine, but at least pick one that deserves some complaint ROFLMAO.

Well I don't think carbineer can be any better than when you stack bh carbs. The speed and acc. is nice and you don't have to worry about SEAs. Plus having 4 knockdown attacks (underhand shot, fire kd, & charge shot 1 &2) are nice plus spray shot at the MBH box just plain rules. I also added some FS skills to give me some defenses and some BE clothing as well. I'm having so much fun with this arrangement I actually enjoy playing again.
