Thread: DOT Carbines? where to loot them

It boils down to the strength of your DoTs.
Right now, for Health, I can stack about 950 tick (in 3 poisons and 1 fire). In Mind, I can stack 700 tick (in 3 poisoins and 1 fire). In Action, I have a 254 strength poison, and can couple with LegShot3 (rarely use this one though.)
The duration on those Health and Mind DoTs is long enough that if a person couldn't heal themselves, it would naturally incap them after about 5-6 ticks.
As a general rule, I'm pretty much always going for Health Damage, because even Doctors have trouble healing all those DoTs and can't throw themselves a full heal long enough. The only templates that present a problem, though, are Melee/Docs with good armor/PSGs/foods, at which point, I have no choice but to go for the Mind Pool and hope that I can Warcry them and "force" atleast 2-3 ticks, and progressively rinse and repeat.
In my case, the DoTs I use far outweigh any damage I could dish out to Ranged Templates with mitigation. As far as Melee templates go, if they don't have Medic/Doctor skills, I'll just lightly stack them and use a Laser for standard CrippleShot. If they are Melee/Docs or Melee defense-stackers, though, I have to rely on DoTs to take them out.
You're right - DoTs are great, but not always needed. In many cases, a good dizzy and states and posture changes will keep our target down and we can kill them eventually. DoTs just speed up the process, and can make a difference between losing some of your teammembers,or basically "pwning" the opposing team.
FullAutoArea2 with DoTs works great, by the way. I always open up with several Health poisons.. it can only help.

Assuming a 3 second switch per weapon, forboth Health and Mind, its a12 second switch time. ThenI use about1-2 uses (I FullAutoArea2 with each.. which ALSO inflicts states

20 seconds at the start of a fight isn't long.. but near the end,20 seconds can mean the difference between winning or losing. So generally, I only stackabout 2 Health or 2 Mind onesand then pick off anytargets with astandard Laser, unless a target really needs to bebrought down.![]()
I like to go for Health of course, being a Carbineer, so I only use the Mind ones against strong PvP templates.
Don't ask how much all of those cost me.. you don't wanna know.. and I'm scared to think about it..lol

i buyed a mind poison 292str around 9k uses for 2-3millions some months ago and some weeks ago a str252 went for 10millions
and today (yesterday need to sleed soon:robotvery-happy

The trick is to land a mind poison and then get them dizzy/KD or even better, warcried. Using FullAuto when using the DoT Carbine also ensures that they are dizzied, and since most combat doctors have a macro to heal dizzy.. you can time it with luck to eventually force a tick on doctors.
Generally, though.. melee docs have no ranged mitigation, so that's a plus for us.. and ranged docs have little dizzy/KD defenses, so that's a plus too.
Forcing a doctor to prioritize their states and postures over a DoT you inflict is the key.. and while it can take a while, constant pressure with a Mind DoT (or a powerful Health/Action DoT) is essential.

i got 2 mind poison laser carbines and they work nice
