Thread: FAQ discussion
OK, seriously...
Are you going to be copying in the STICKY post info or just provide links? It might be easier to edit and keep it current by linking to other posts.....
You need LOW HAM cost in your 3 tree description....
And after discussion on the 3m radius of the EE3, it might be important to clarify AoE and Cone Effect differences. Our Specials are really Cone Effect and not AoE.....
Couple typos in the Armor Penetration section.....
Actual Firing Speed formula needs the word SPEED moved back up to the main line of the forumula
I know, I am a picky SOB ![]()
And yes, all these edits are easier than me "taking notes"..... a number of lines need adjusted in "my section" so one word isn't all by itself on the next line ![]()
Most Carbines are easy to find under 4.00 Weapon Speed so option VI) or lower will result in you firing EVERY Special once every second.
I don't like wording in that statement....yes it is MY STATEMENT and now I don't like it
Lets try:
Most Carbines are easy to find under 4.00 Weapon Speed, so at +90 Carbine Speed it becomes easy to fire EVERY Special once every second.

You are literally reading it as I am fixing it.You pretty much have to just paste the info in, submitt it to find those problems and then edit them out. They should all be fixed by now.
I'll check over all your other suggestions this afternoon.
I've only gota couple smallissues so far.
The Laser Carbine as the best all around? Where'd that come from?
Its terrible in PvP because of being A) Energy damage, which every Composite Robo-Cop wannabe and their brother has sickening resistance to and B) so thoroughly gelded by Ranged Damage Mitigation as to make that Max Damage number a fond memory. In PvE where the AP2 would come into play, you're likely facing an enemy with sickening Energy resistance as well, so again, itsan endorsementthat left me scratching my head.
And still no fan of the DH17, even though every mob under CL 40, and a feweven higher, has had armor removed from it way back in Publish 5. The best HAM costs of any carbine, great speed, and easy to get in the 300+ max damage range with a nice slice and tissue and its still scorned.
Personally I agree 100% with the weapon choice discussion and it represents the majority here I believe. Of course your points in PvP are correct and that gets discussed as well. But hands down, if I had one Carbine to carry with me for all fights, it would be the Laser Carbine. And don't take that to mean I would EVER carry just one Carbine.....that is suicide no matter which one you pick. Your choice is the Elite....Energy damage just like the Laser so don't even go there...... ![]()

Touche`
On the DH17. It is true that they removed around from many creatures back in November. However, they really changed nothing if you looked carefully at the stats before/after the patch. I was a creature handler back then and so I closely followed the stats of the creatures. What I found after the patch was that the Devs removed armor then increased the resistances. For example, a creature prior to the changes might have been AR1 with 10% energy and after the patch it was 35% resist.
This was a boost to AP0 weapons for sure since they didnt get hit with the 50% reduction right off the top BUT they still get hit with a heafty 35% (in this example) reduction. When you consider that a 35% energy resistant creature would take 15% EXTRA damage from a laser carbine, I find it pretty hard to rationalize using a DH17 and taking a 35% hitverse usinga laser and getting a 15% bonus.
In addition, you (or were) comparing krayt DH17s to standard laser carbines. Now granted, a DH17 only takes 1 tissue but it still is not trivial to acquire a krayt DH17 weapon and when you consider the typical reader of a FAQ is a new player, I cannot recommend a Krayt DH17 snubnose as thebest carbine to use.
DH17s have their place for sure. I carry one at all times for when I am not buffed and have to fight the swoopers and durnis that often spawn around my Corellian home.I also use my DH17 exclusively for busting lairs since lairs have no armor (crippleshot + DH17= lair smashing goodness). However, youwould never catch me using a DH17 on Dantooine or Endor or Dathomir (aside from breaking down lairs).
